Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the early 1980's, I curiously began searching for my ancestors. It has gone from curiosity to a passion all consuming. There is always something new to discover!! I owe it all to my BFF, Geneva!!
For those of you who sit in front of a cemetery book or a newspaper obituary column copying deaths into a cemetery, I truly feel sorry for you. For those of you who complain about those of us who have "Unknown Burials". I believe the name of this program is "Find A Grave". The hopes of family researchers is that some one some where will FIND our lost ancestor and may even find a tombstone of that loved one. As for me, I am so proud that this site has come about where I can share my family with others and hopefully find long lost family that I would never have found otherwise. Thank you, FindAGrave.
If you come across someone I have entered in a cemetery that is your ancestor and you have pictures or a bio you would like to add, OR you would like a transfer, don't hesitate to contact me through the EDIT button. I will transfer if they are not related to me.
Please be advised that links and other data on memorials [other than those for my immediate family members] more often than not come from other Find A Grave members and/or guests and/or from Ancestry. It has come to my attention that edits/links that you don't approve within 21 days will automatically be added to the memorial. Please double check & verify all information before taking what you read as gospel.
LINKING NOTE: Too many errors have come up with people submitting "Edits". I will no longer change any memorials without a verifiable source being provided.
PLEASE-NO DEATH CERTIFICATES on memorials I have created or manage!!
VOLUNTEER PHOTOGRAPHERS: I appreciate your enthusiasm in taking tombstone pictures in cemeteries, BUT I do not appreciate additional tombstone photos on memorials when there is already a clear tombstone picture for that memorial.
FAMILY PHOTOS: I invite you to enjoy the family pictures posted, but ask that they not be copied and placed on any other website without my written permission.

Savanah Murphy Tate & Susanna Murphy Berry are I believe twins, both have death certs that lists exact same birthdates and have seen them listed as sisters before, but cannot find any of them in 1870 or 1880 census. They are different people. Hope that helps

Re: Dellus Frank Weatherford
Another source for his burial is on the Lamar County genealogy website of Death & Cemetery Records. They also show him as being in the Restland Cemetery.

Re: Dellus Frank Weatherford

Thank you for your words of condolence for John. I appreciate it.

You asked if I was sure Dellus's (#22857264) tombstone in Restland Cemetery was in the correct cemetery. I can say for certain that it is. As soon as we finished a days photographing in a cemetery, I always downloaded the photos into a file with that cemetery name. There are no other Weatherfords in Arkansas Ceme. but there is another one in Restland, Edith (Weatherford) Merritt. I looked up my photos though & the two are not in real close proximity to each other.

We did go to the Arkansas Cemetery also & took all the photos there but someone else had already uploaded their photos to Find A Grave so I never put mine on. But in looking at those pictures for Arkansas Ceme, I did not find a Weatherford in that batch.

I would be willing to transfer my Dellus to you and you can add all the info you have on yours, if you would like? or send me all that info & I will add it to mine.

RE: Cemetery Photo:
Hi Kay, John Barnett is my 4th gr. grandfather.
You know we found 46 graves and by divine intervention and lots of good searching by my husband - under all the brush and weeds the sun light shined down on a footstone. JWH I was so shocked bec. I didn't think any stones were still there. Well the stones were crumbling and had been trampled over for abt 100 yrs......but we turned the stone over and it was Joseph W. Hamerick - error with the 'e' in middle.....son of B. L. and E.T. Hamrick......that was fantastic to see bec.
we weren't sure of his name as one census has him as John and Granny Alford only knew his name as then we cleared away brush and cut down big I think Trenton Hamrick said they were Elm bushes....very hard to cut down. We found his grave with stone slabs on it and next to him was his dad
Burrell L. Hamrick d. age 45.....and then two of the little sisters graves. One of the girls died the week her dad died of the flu. Right at sad for all. One of the other little girls died of illness also. I will have to send you what I have typed up ......then there were 2 other baby graves in real good shape. Baby Hugh Goodloe and Elva Crawford. Her parents were Hamrick mother and I think C. T. Champion alk known as Pat. There was an adult size grave unmarked but with the slabs on it under the Oak Tree next to the Hamricks I listed and the babys.
But there are at least 46 graves there but cannot prove who is buried there. But I have to think everyone in the family are there at least until 1902 or 3 when ET Barnett Hamrick was forced to sell the property to help Willis Hamrick pay off his lawyers....Long sad story.....but anyway then another grave inside an iron fence...I got a pix a while back and looks like someone painted the fence red....but not sure. He was a young man who's parents were from Germany I think it was and they had a gas station/grocery store in San Saba. He was killed there on the property by someone....stabbed in the lung.We found that record at the court house think it was 1902 so prob the last one buried there. 2 other cousins there think that John and Zilphia Barnett are most likely buried there too. There were some slave graves that a lady showed me were marked with a large rock going down the path to the river. So we put a memorial stone for the Barnett's there with their daughters and sons in laws just to remember them and hope they are there. ET Hamrick was buried at SS City Cem. yrs later. I have lots of pix of the cemetery if you wnat to see them I can e-mail them to you or you can view them in my tree what you would like.
Hope I can send you message via e-mail...mine is Thanks, June Hamrick Schaub

You are very welcome. I am very familiar with that cemetery and have walked it several times. If in the future, I do discover anything, I will submit an edit to the memorial.

John Barnett
You are not correctly reading the bio for the mother of John Barnett. John's father James died in 1861, the same year his son John was born.

RE: Information
Hello Kay, I have been in Australia for 3 months and just saw your message.

I am sorry I know nothing about those you mentioned. I entered obituaries from various counties and think maybe that this is one.

I will see what I can find as soon as I catch up.
