I am still new to the whole genealogy thing. I have only been doing for about 15 years. I am hoping that my children will continue the search.|
My Paternal Great Grand father and Mother came from Scotland (but met in Illinois) and my Maternal Family is from Connecticut from the 1652ish. I am in the St. Louis, MO area.
I am working on the Stewart, Robertson, Sage and English Families currently.
Photography is relaxing for me...so I take photos and add them. There is cemetery that I am working on that across the street from my children's school. If you want one of my photos, that is fine, but I do want credit. I however would prefer that they are not added to Ancestry. It is more that you might credit me, but the person that acquires it from you might not.
PLEASE -Turn on your messages. You are missing out on A LOT of info that people may want to share with you.
Please remember, when you start researching a new geographic area, that those living in the area, probably know more than you, but there are some that don't. Like St. Louis City and St. Louis County are very separate, but very connected. Please look at an actual map that has city and county boarders, that is dated for that era, NOT a current map. For example, much of what is warehouses now by river, used to be housing.
Just another twig in the tree.

Kathie I appreciate your response - didn't realize you were one of those who go to Calvary. If I still lived in the St. Louis area I'd help you! Really what you are doing is fantaatic, thank you!
The duplicate memorial was for a Monsarrat - but Richard Motherway is who I'd rather have a marker for. Interesting your parents neighbors are Motherways.
I transcribe records for a genealogical society in Illinois - also do some markers on Billion Graves. All these records are so important and all these people need not be forgotten.
Again, thanks for all you do!!

Hi Kathie - When I accidently made a memorial for a person who already had one you let me know about it and also that my photo request couldn't be honored. That was a burial in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis. The memorial has been straightened out - and I put in a photo request which I recently pulled.
Question: Do you know if there are people who will photograph markers in Calvary? Just curious since there are lots of requests for that cemetery.
Sure wish I lived in St. Louis to do this myself :)
Thanks in advance for a reply!

Thanks, Kathie for your work on the Gronkes buried in Saint Louis. I'm sorry I sent you to look for headstones that weren't there. Thank you for locating the plot information - I have edited the memorials to indicate the graves are not marked. I wish I knew how these people related to my family.
Thank you Kathie for everything!

I can't find the obituary and I don't remember what cemetery it said but it must have been the one he is in. I will move the Memorial. Thank you

Kathie, you found it!!! Thank you so much for all of your efforts to do this for me. I never dreamed that the two shared a stone. As a child, I spent many summers at my Aunt Mamie's house in PA, near Niagara Falls. Many special memories. So, I thank you for finding their final resting place & sending me a copy. Much appreciation.-Karen

Sorry, didnt mean to offend you.. There are those of you who can get out to the cemeteries and do the walking and photos for those of us who can not get out so we are the researchers.
Thank you and I will take a look at the card...
Thank you for taken the pictures. I personally wanted to thank you for the Parmelee information. Lucille Parmelee Gleason was my mother-in-law. She was a great woman that i looked at as a mother. Thanks again, Jack

Thanks for responding. Yes that is the style of stone I remember. According to several family members she is with him. It's such a shame the stone is so bad. Thank you for ypour effort. Who told you to use foil over the stone? I would have never thought of that. How smart. Thanks again.

I'd like to double check with you. We are talking about Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum on West Florissant Ave. Right? Would you be so kind to E-mail a close up photo of Sebatian's inscription, or just post that to his memorial. When we saw the marker. Elizabeth was inscibed on the marker also. I sure wish we had taken a photo of it then. But at the time we weren't thinking of that. We had Mom with us & was just gladd to find it. Thanks again for responing.
