Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Hambrick Collins.

I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.

I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi.

I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in History.

I have written and maintain 240+ web pages, including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery (White) and the Vaiden Community Cemetery (African-American).

So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).

Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/12/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.

PLEASE CHECK FIRST TO SEE IF ENTRIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDED AND MAKE SURE THAT ANY MARKER PHOTOS AND DATES ARE LEGIBLE.

How To Write An Obituary

Remember me as you pass by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.

Annie King
Annie King memorial number 22266177, are you a relative? I am trying to find out if she's the Annie King I'm looking for. Do you know her maiden name or parents' names? Thanks!

I took about 60 pix but all were not readable. Will go back and finish soon. I think I found all that you wanted. Could see them and read them, but pix weren't so good.

Ronnie,
Please transfer to me my uncle Dennis. I do know the rules but he and I were very close. His sister Janice is like a mother to me. I am trying to gather up all of my family memorials to maintain. Your help would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Al, 48646440

Sorry. I did not know of the updates to Find A Grave. Apparently, I can add photos and not disturb the original order of things. Sorry to bother you, again, let me know if you wish the photos removed. Thanks. WYNDY SOUTH

Preston Pearson, Jr. at Jesus Name Tabernacle Cemetery, Florence, MS
Mr. Collins, recently I photographed this entire cemetery. I was hoping to add a photo for Mr. Pearson's stone. I wanted you to know so that you can rearrange the photo order since it is your memorial. Please let me know if I have overstepped a boundary here and I'll gladly delete it. Thank you. WYNDY SOUTH

Charles Jenkins
Re: your correction suggestions: 61317586 and 47138685 are duplicates.....Yes I am aware there are two entries for Mr Jenkins, one is listed under the Pryor Family Cemetery and the other under the Alexander Cemetery. this cemetery listing was passed to my care by a contributor who is now deceased. there are two names for this cemetery which one is the actual true name I do not know as there seems to be some dispute about it and it has been confusing for some family members when researching histories, as some records indicate Pryor and some indicate Alexander....so it was decided with a family member to leave the entry under both cemetery names for research purposes. but thank you for your concern..however I will make a note on the memorial as to the reason it is listed under two different cemetery names.
