Nixon Ousley
Seneasha Cemetery: With all the confusion about these Ousleys I believe that the sons information is incorrect. If this is the father his son could not have been born in 1814. "Nixon" is the father of Rufus N. Ousley>1845-1911. Nixons father is Thomas Ousley. This "Nixon" was married to Mary Ann Mabry. His name is also Rufus N. Ousley. If you look at all of the pictures you will be able to see that 2 of them are the same. One I took, and the other some one else took. This is a mess and none of it is your fault or anyone elses fault. It is hard to get things straightened out when there is nobody who could actually tell who was who. They are family but it has taken me awhile to figure out what exactly is going on in this cemetery with these 2 men. One is the father: Rufus "Nixon" 1814-1870. The other one is his son: "Rufus N.", so he is a Jr. Their names are Rufus Nicholas "Nixon" Ousley. But there is only 2 in this cemetery. Not sure how to go about getting this mess straightened out but it is a mess. Thank you

Eva Taylor - Mizpah Cemetery
Can you tell if Eva Cagle Taylor in Mizpah Cemetery is buried next to Walter Taylor? I'm actually trying to determine if this Walter Taylor is related to distant cousin of mine.

RE: Eupora Cemetery/ William Aldridge
Thanks, but that is not the same William Aldridge. The one I am looking for is William Louis Aldridge who died June 13, 1963 in Hayti, Mo. Although with so many other Aldridges in Church Hill, he is probably in there too. We photographed that cemetery (with a police escort) There were a ton of unreadable rusty funeral markers, unmarked ones and some wth bricks, pipes or some other mark foreign objects. I just hate to ask for it to be moved until I have proof of where he actually is. Thanks again for your help. Pam

Eupora Cemetery/ William Aldridge
Beth, do you know of any other cemeteries in Webster Co. that could have gone by the name of Eupora Cemetery in 1963? The reason I was asking is there is a William Aldridge who died in my home town of Hayti, Mo. in 1963. Teresa and I don't have a stone for him in Eupora nor any other Aldridges. I looked up his death certificate and it indeed states that he was buried in Eupora Cemetery in Eupora, Ms. but that he was black.......I don't think this cemetery was segregated in 1963 or if it is now..........The death certificate states his parents were Johnson and Ellen Aldridge and I can't find them either. ......Is there another cemetery in Eupora that Teresa and I don't know about?........pam

RE: Thank you!
You are welcome! We have been totally shocked with this cemetery....We hadn't done it before because it said it was 98% done and it had 886 memorials in it so we assumed it had been done.........It had 12 photo request at the time, and 16 without photos including this 12. We saw that most of them were old, so they probably didn't have stones......We decided to go out there one Sunday afternoon and try and find the 16 left (just in case). On the way there we decided to go ahead and do the whole cemetery because we have found that it takes less time for the both of us to do that as to try and find a hand full in a cemetery that large. The weather was perfect so we got the whole thing done in a couple of hours....When we started checking the interments against our pictures we were SHOCKED to find out that MOST of the ones we photographed were not even listed. So far we have added over 200 and we are not thru yet....AND they range every where between the late 1800's, early 1900's, late 1900's and 2000's.........So we have learned that although it may say 100% done "It ain't been did until we have did it."..........pam

Your welcome. I want to transfer all of my contributions.

I hae a question.
I see in the early records Vaiden is in Attala Co. Later Vaiden is in Carrol County and now it seems that it is in Montgomery Co.
Wasn't Attala County called (something) Mills?
Predating the above it seems that it would of been Choctow Nation. All of it being in the original Choctow County 1828 Dancing Rabbit Treaty.
Can you shed some light on this subject?

Interesting how so many of the Carrol County inhabitants came from Lincoln and Lawrence County Mississippi, Mt Dexter original Choctow cession 1805.

RE: Peel Cemetery
Beth, I don't live in the area. Memorials were created from a cemetery transcription book.
