I inherited the genealogy bug from my mother. I ran across F.A.G. while trying to find information on ancestors. I believe F.A.G. is a wonderful site to find missing family links.|
When photographing, I go row-by-row. I am not a greedy request-claimer who will go out, take a single pic, and run back to post it. From a genealogy perspective, I want to know if there are other family members in the cemetery that I may not already know of. Also, if someone has previously posted a pic of the headstone and I get a better one (I am using a HD camera), I will add mine as well.
If you would like me to transfer management of a memorial, please send me the request, and your relationship to that person. I try to transfer to family members if possible!
***** If you send me a message stating "this memorial is a dupe, please delete," please make sure the other memorial has at least as much information and pics as the one in my control. Otherwise it will remain as-is!!!
****If you would like me to add an obituary to a person, you MUST provide me with citation information!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for all the work you've done recording graves and publishing the information. I have been looking for my great-grandmother's grave for several years without success. Since you added this record last year, I am finally able to know the location of her final resting place! She migrated with her husband and children to Nebraska in the late 19th century seeking land and a new start. She died in childbirth or shortly thereafter; the farm did not succeed and her husband brought the children back home to West Virginia. I have her obituary and knew that she was buried somewhere close to Omaha, but I had not been able to travel to Nebraska to try to find her. Now I know exactly where to go!
I have just joined Find A Grave, and if you are willing, I would like to take responsibility for this memorial. Please let me know what I need to do to make this happen.
Thank you again! Marjorie Price

The obit is from the York News-Times dated June 16, 1983. Here it is again if you need it:
I found an obit for Laura Alice McMannan today and thought you might like to add it to her memorial:
Laura Alice McMannan, 95, of York, died Wednesday (June 15, 1983) in York. She was born Oct. 14, 1887, at Reynolds, NE, to Nathaniel and Esther (Corwin) Moore. She was married to Charles McMannan and they lived most of their married life in Fairbury. He preceded her in death in Oct. 1968.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Knocke of York and Virginia Staley of Cupertino, CA; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and one sister. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Fairbury. The Rev. Bill Jardine of York will officiate. Visitation will be held at York Memorial Chapel through Saturday morning. Traum-Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home will handle arrangements in Fairbury. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church of York. York Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements in York.

Would you consider transferring the above record for my uncle, John Halpin, to me? I was thrilled to finally be able to see his headstone!
