I live in North Central Texas in the county where I was born and raised. I am a grandson of Lewis Pinkney Brooks and Mary Lucinda Moore and John A. Brown and Dovie Palestine Chastain. My roots go back to Ireland, Germany, France and other countries I'm unsure of. They arrived in Texas via Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee with names like Brown, Chastain, Brooks, Brooke and Moore.
If you find a mistake on any of my inputs, please let me know; I want to correct it. Let me know if you have additional information; I will gladly add it to the memorial in a timely manner. If you are family, I will transfer it to you even if it is not directly in your line (Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, etc.)because I believe that family belongs with family.
If I inadvertently duplicate one of your memorials, let me know and I will delete immediately if not sooner.
Feel free to use my pictures, etc. on other websites, but please, have the courtesy and scruples to give me credit for them.
PLEASE do not post pictures of death certificates on any of my memorials. Other pictures are welcome as long as they pertain to the subject person and are NOT PICTURES OF DOCUMENTS. These seem to clutter. | |

The above grave is in the Medlan Chapel Cemetery in Young County, Texas. Date of death May 27, 1908, with the note that this is possibly the child of Plez and Mary Ellen Hargrave Sloan. Do you have any furthur information on this grave? This is possible my aunt or uncle, as Plez and Mary Ellen are my grandparents. Any help you could give would appreciated. Bill Sloan

Sara Muscatt W. Foley's tombstone says her death was in January, which agrees with what the SSDI says. Your write-up says she died in February, however. I am guessing this is a simple mistake, but is there a source that says February?

I'm wondering about whether you'd be interested in receiving some of the memorials I currently have under my management. I am wanting to transfer as many as I can once I am finished with them as I don't want them to get left in limbo if and when I am no longer able to maintain them. I am hoping that you are younger than I but I realize that you may not be. In any case, please let me know.
I am speaking of memorials for the Dowdy, Freeman, Pardue, Gallaway and related families. I know that you have many of these but I have some and do want them to go to someone who will take good care of them.

I was just wondering, do you have any other infromation on John Marion Chastain's burial? You list it as Boyd's Chapel, Towns County, Georgia, and give a date of death. You have a Family Search document as a source. While I think I tracked it down, it didn't give much information. Have you seen any other documents saying he is buried there or that he died on that date? | | | David Werner
