|Julie Rasmussen||Jack Parrott|
I'm going to have to do some rubbings on some stones to see if I can pull off more information. I thought I found Jack buried directly to the west of Mary Parrott and near C. Parrott and added that photo. However, I later decided it wasn't the right photo. I will try again soon.

I received this information from the local funeral home records. It shows Amelia as spouse. Perhaps this was a second wife ? Good luck with the researching !

|John C. Anderson||RE: Crown point cemetery|
That is correct. If there's no photo on any of my managed memorials, then there's no tombstone. In 2005, I took over 21,000 photos in Crown Point. Any burials after 2005 may have a tombstone since I have not retaken new burials.

Hi, I'm not related to the Lockers only thru his wife Lucy Wheeler Locker, my grandmother was Lucy's sister. Jim.
|pkarchs||Harpersfield Rural Cemetery, Delaware Co., NY|
The cemetery is exactly located as shown on its F-A-G map and is not as hard to find as rumored. My great aunt Tessie Wilcox Jones (34619844) bequethed its "perpetual care" via two vast NYC bank accounts in 1968 (separate banks!), thus its nest egg is greater than most American individual's retirement account today. Selflessly without indicating her own name, the bronze plaque and new gate (1970) honor ancestors she and I share. She did not know at the time that we have even more ancestors there. All to say that the cemetery is (and will be) in magnificent condition largely thanks to her, I'm happy to report, as I had never been until Saturday, May 04, 2013. From her files, I have a complete interment list and complete enumerated surname plot map (copied from the original in 1955), thus better records than are currently online in the Delaware Co. archive. Long planned, I arrived at 8am and photogrpahed the entire cemetery. I soon realized 99% of the stone inscriptions face exactly due west and all would be in shade until noon. Given their age (and acid rain wear), all were nearly impossible to read in shadow. I gave up other destinations to wait the additional four hours until the sun "came around" to the face of each. Rather miraculously I can say, the entire cemetery is one vast sundial and from the far west end, all became suddenly and at the same moment (noon), "legible" - something like an orchestra when all begin to play. Or a silent crowd that at once starts talking. Quite an astonishing spectacle, I assure you! I had to scramble to re-photograph all my ancestors and then all the photo requests, because they soon became just as illegible in full sun as full shadow. I could not rephotogrpah the entire cemetery again in time, But I did reshoot your request.
I will ask F-A-G to add a note to the cemetrey description advising to arrive noon - 1:30 for best viewing results. In the meantime, I wonder if you would be so kind as to use the "inscription" hot link to add the exact transcription (by line/case/font) as per my previous note. You chose to paraphrase the information I provided in the bio section - but for those of us interested in design, graphics and period verbiage, the epitaph correctly represented then shows in Google searches. One can then discern whether the epitaph is a popular copy or original. Also: for those piecing together fragmentary epitaphs, a complete memorial is the best aid to serious researchers and posterity. Many thanks.
Hope this helped,
Philip in NYC

Yes, the cemetery still has active caretakers, If you need to contact the caretakers, I believe Our Lady of Hope is in charge of them. You can also contact the Archdiocese of Detroit that runs the cemetery at (313) 237-5800 if you have any extra questions.
|Daniel Pletcher||Photo requests at Holy Cross Cemetery Detroit MI|
I noticed that you have one or more photo requests for people buried in Holy Cross cemetery in Detroit MI. There cemetery office has permanently closed, all of their records were sent to the Our Lady of Hope cemetery office. Please call them at (734) 285-2155 to get the plot location of your loved ones, this way find a grave volunteers in the area can accurately locate the stone.

You are very welcome. I actually went back tonight and took a better one that is now posted. When I went this morning the sun faded the photos that I took but the one I took tonight is pretty clear.
