Joe Clark
James H. Salyer

First, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Joe Clark. My family owns the farm on which the Masters Cemetery on the Rowan / Carter County lines in Kentucky is located.

I noticed we both had put up a find-a-grave page for James H. Salyer. But I inadvertently had put the wrong death date. I had put 1962 instead of 1902. Anyway, I just noticed yours and therefore deleted the one I had put up since yours was there first and was the correct one.

But I do have a question for you. You said there are 2 unmarked graves on each side of James. Do you know why markers were never put there for those ladies?

Since that is our family cemetery and we take care of it, Mom and I have researched and found nearly 40 unmarked graves listed for Masters Cemetery. We would love to be able to locate those and hopefully mark them in some way. In the case of the two you mentioned, if you are related to them, perhaps you and / or I could work together in locating and contacting their relatives to try to get some funds to erect a monument for them. Even if we could just get a footstone type marker, it's better than no marker at all.

Old Mitchell Cemetery at Blue Licks ?
Dear Nathan my name is Cynthia Mitchell. I have many, many, relatives living and deceased, in Fleming Co. On both sides of the family coin. Both paternal and maternal ancestors married Mitchell's as well as Farrow's . My Great grandmother was the daughter of Solomon Mitchell and Frances Gray . The daughter Mary Frances Married Thomas Farrow. Their daughter Mary Thomas married Charles Everett Mitchell From Montgomery Co. Many of these people are buried in or around Blue Licks . I am trying to locate a known as " the old Mitchell Cemetery " on a bluff over-looking the Licking River or at Blue Licks ? If you could locate this place it would be of invaluable help in my quest to complete my family tree. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated . If you can help or know of any one who can, Please contact me at : Subject as; Find a grave query info.

Bradley/Porter Family
Hi Nathan, i have talked to Irene{Porter}Thornsburg from Bath, Fleming co. My mom{Mary Bradley}Meyer was Roy Robert{Pappy}Bradley daughter. I see that you are looking for family i am also looking to,I found something interesting you might like to know i found in Owingsville Outlook dated Sep.27 1906 about a boy named George Gray aged 18 son of the widow of Henry Gray and is buried at the Gregory Graveyard. Is this the graveyard you found and is it ok to post my information about him in the graveyard? Or is he even related to be in the cemetery? I hope we can stay in contact and share some information. I like your articles in the Ky Explorer. Patty #47517041

Loved the inspirational story
Fantastic story! I had something similar happen to me in Lawrence Co., KY. After I got there I told the husband if I had a heart attack from the CLIMB just to roll me over into the cemetery and leave! I applaud the determination! I root around Bath county "digging up" Honakers, Rices and Hazelriggs. Ann
