Bio Photo Many people do not understand our passion for recording graves and cemeteries.
I try to record information correctly, but I make many mistakes. Thank you for spotting them and letting me know. I will transfer ownership if the departed is not directly related to me and wish others to show me the same respect. If you send a request and I fail to respond, please resend the request.
Please do not use my photos for financial gain or publication unless you request first.
I submit those who have gone before us as an honor, a memory to be cherish. I do not wish to hurt or offend. I am drawn to veterans graves, graves of children and unusual gravestones. Findagrave allows me to visit my family's graves within the privacy of my home.
Lost cemeteries and fallen, worn stones need to be recorded for those who follow, searching for their ancestors. If I have helped one person on their quest, I will feel this has not been in vain.

RE: Icarians
Some information from a French dictionary
Born around 1804 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), from a family where there were several Icarian Communists was Roiné cartier (designer or playing card manufacturer?). Responding to the call of Cabet, he left Le Havre in August 1854 to join the community of Nauvoo (Illinois). He was accompanied by his wife (born 1817) and their six children, namely a 23-year old son, Cartier and violin teacher; a girl aged 20, a hairdresser; another girl aged 18, Seamstress; two son and a daughter aged 14 years respectively 12 years 1/2 and 9 years old. He also had a financial contribution therefore.
In 1856 Roiné took Cabet party and, like his eldest son, he voted May 12 to benefit the founder of the community. He participated, under the direction of Heggi, development of a venue in St. Louis (Missouri) for Icarians remained faithful to Cabet. However shortly after he asked to leave the colony and was no longer a member in March 1857.
It could be the oldest é R ... St. Louis that sent twice in 1859 substantial contributions (4 and 3 dollars) Libertarian, the newspaper published in New York by Joseph Déjacque (qv).
It does not appear that there is identity Auguste Roiné (qv), probably one of his brothers.

I hope it could help you !

Bertha Gifford
It may be trivial, but I live in Catawissa, Mo and pass daily by the farm and house where Bertha lived. Catawissa, MO is no where near Morese Mill, Mo. She did live in Morse Mill before living in Catawissa.

Thank you again for all your help and advice. I would only ask for direct relatives.I have learned so much about my fathers side of the family already. He grew up in foster homes b/c my grandmother passed a few months before he turned 5yrs. old which happened to also be on my uncle jerris 14th b-day. Its a subject that is too painful for my dad but I need to know at least the names I come from. I have some answers but of course now I also have more questions. hahaha I will def. take your advice and keep the rest in mind. Thank you kindly for all you dedicated work.

Ty very much. I appreciate the transfer and the welcome. I wonder if you could answer a question I couldn't find in the FAQ's. How do you get a transfer of a relative from someone who it shows that their account is inactive?

Bessie Brazil
Orval was my husband's grandfather. Julia was his first wife. Haven't found an actual marriage record for them, so not entirely sure they were ever legally married. She was 15 years older than him and freshly divorced (haven't found that record either)or separated from her third husband (who died in 1914) when they got together. Her maiden name was Julia Ann Jenkins. They were both from the Mediapolis, Des Moines County, Iowa area. All together, Julia had six husbands. None of Orval's three remaining children from the second marriage knew of this relationship. The first I learned of it was googling Orval Jr. to try to find a story about him being killed in WWII. The adoption record popped up, so then I started looking for info. Bessie was born Evalynn Conn. Found her birth certificate in Stillwater, with Conn mispelled Kahn. Julia must have had a rough time, as Bessie was born in a hospital, which wasn't common back then. Recently, I found a newspaper clipping, which this message won't let me attach, dated Feb. 16, 1914, from McGregor Iowa, that told the story of how Orval & Julia were traveling back from Missouri on charity, each town giving them a meal and a train ticket to the next town, to get them back to Minnesota. They told a heartbreaking story of how they had traveled to Missouri to look for work, which he didn't find. Completely broke, they started to walk back to Minnesota in Dec. 1913 with the baby. Julia wasn't strong and the baby became very ill. They said they "loved the baby as much as any father and mother could" but they knew she would die if she stayed with them, so they gave her up for adoption to the family of John Brazil of De Soto. As Sept. 1914, Orval still hadn't returned to his home in Iowa, as he was listed residence unknown in his brother's obit. But by the Iowa 1915 census, both Orval and Julia were back, living apart, but listing themselves as married. Julia remarried in August of 1915. Orval married my husband's grandmother in 1919. Quite an interesting story.

William was called "Will" and it was spelled Will. Could you please correct this? I got a message saying that my edit was processed but it hasn't been corrected yet. I know that Christmas has taken precedence over everything so I understand. Thank you, Kaye Harkins McClintock #47734417

Happy New Year!
