Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family spent many Sunday afternoons visiting our family cemeteries. We would stroll together, sometimes three or four generations at a time, gently touching the stones, whispering greetings, shedding a tear or two, always careful of our steps, sharing memories and legends, passing the stories down from one generation to the next. I always felt like I knew everyone in those cemeteries even though thay had passed away decades, even centuries, before my birth. As children, we would stand before the stone of an ancestor and carefully recite everything we had been told, to the knowing nods or corrections of our elders. I cherish the memories of those Sundays in my adult life. My family no longer lives close enough to each other to stroll through those cemeteries. Find A Grave has allowed me to create virtual family cemeteries that my family can stroll through at any time without the limitations of time or distance. We can't touch the stones or hear the wind in the pines, but we can still whisper a greeting, shed a tear, and remember.
I will gladly edit or transfer any of the memorials that I have submitted that are not in my direct line.

I would like to know if I may use the photo you took of the headstone for Martha Elizabeth Brady / Manley Brady in my family research. Manley is my 2nd Great Grand Uncle.

Find A Grave Memorial# 29441620
Good Day 2U Roanna,

Thank-you for all the wonderful work you have done. My 5th Great Grandfather is Francis H. Goodwin Sr, b. 1760 to John Edward Goodwin b. 1734 (Maryland) & Tabitha Pearson b. 1734(Ireland). John & Tabitha were married in 1807, in Essex, Essex, Massachusetts and then Francis was born in 1560.
I believe that my 5th Great Grandfather is not the Francis Goodwin that was born in Ireland. Find A Grave alone has '40' people with the name Francis Goodwin.
I did notice in my reasearch that a Goodwin family member said that this side of the Goodwin has a direct line to England and that someone had put Ireland born in a tree and has been spending a lot of time correcting that error.
I hope the above information helps in correcting this error on Find A Grave.

Thank-you very much,

Svotam

Chariety Lyles phot request
I have walked the cemetery twice and unable to locate any Lyles family memorials. Some of the memorials date back to Colonial times, but are mostly in family plots/sections. Need either accurate section/plot/grave or more information about Chariety; e.g. date(s) of birth/death, other names(s) used, e.g. Maiden? Richard B.

RE: Mary Morton Hill Camden #35506869
The next time I get a chance, I will check out Bayley's Chapel Cemetery to see if she is there...but if her death certificate says Arrington...this cemetery is not anywhere near Arrington, which is in Nelson County. I have both the Amherst & Nelson County Cemetery Books, and she is not listed in either one. She may have been buried in the "family burying ground," which is why the death certificate only said Arrington. Or...is it possible that Arrington, in this case, is the name of a home instead of the name of a town?

Hello, Roanna!

Yes, I have been to Bayley's Chapel Cemetery.

Do you need to know where it is located? If so...from Rt. 29 South, take a left on Rt. 677 (Dixie Airport Road), several miles to Cemetery on left.

If you are not local...I can try to get by there and photograph her tombstone for you.

Best Regards,
Laurie Goodman Lenz

P.S. Love the photo of your G-Great-Grandmother!
