|Kathy Wittes||Isaac Wittes|
Hello Mr. McDonald,
Just wanted to let you know that my grandfather Isaac Wittes, buried in Mennonite Cemetery, was not killed at Antietam on Sept 17, 1862. That was actually a different Isaac Wittes. The one buried at Mennonite Cemetery in Whitehouse, Ohio, my grandfather, actually died September 12, 1867. You can see how the similar dates and same name got mixed up; the error about him being a Civil War vet was originally made by me and unfortunately has spread far and wide faster than I have been able to correct it. If you look closely at the tombstone picture you can see that the date on it for his death is correct: September 12, 1867.
Would you be able to kindly correct the information on the Find A Grave blurb you created? Or turn the memorial management over to me? I have since found much more information on the family since making the original mistake. I want the soldier's info to be matched with him, and my great grandfather's info to be matched with him, but the two of them keep getting mixed up.

Appreciate your help with my ancestor Pvt Gearhart - when he died/where he's buried? Thanks.

I'm working on a volume of grave locations for veterans of the USCT. Could I have your permission to use the picture you posted of Luke Martin's grave in this compilation? I will cite you as the source.

Hey, My name is Bonnie Mintzer Dampman and I have two Uncle's who fought in the Civil War. William Charles Meintzer and his brother Christian H. Meintzer. They lived in Augusta, Georgia and William was in Pritchard's Unit, I will have to look up Christian's. An uncle through marriage also was in Pritchard's Light Artittery, John Henry Neibling. If you ever run across pictures of them I would so appreciate copies. Their father Christian was my Meintzer immigrant. They lived in Pennsylvania but for some reason moved to Augusta, Georgia. Thank You for your time.

I have the original funeral invitation of his funeral and I was wondering if you would care if I added a photo of it to him memorial. I got this out of a old scrapbook of a relative of his from the 1800's
