I am so thankful for findagrave. I am grateful to all of those volunteers who have helped me piece together my past and I hope that I have been able to help some people myself.|
If I have added a memorial that is not for my own family member, I would be happy to transfer it to a family member. Please contact me!

No relationship, just enjoy looking things up and updating, hoping some of the family will find it. I have an ancestry account.

You listed Alice Ross on Find A Grave. She is my grandmother Julia Effie Ross's sister. Are you related to her. I would like to hear from you.

I was very excited to see the post on your board!!! My gma is Gladys Varvel Johnson, d of James, gd of James VAN VARVEL ggd of Rosannah. She told her children she was an Indian princess! My uncle denied it but my mom & aunts agreed! I'd love to share info. Are you on Ancestry.com?

I have attempted to contact you through the edit tab several times, it seems to have cliches.
Rosannah is my third great-grandmother. She was not the daughter of Mary "Polly" Dotson; nor was she the biological daughter of Daniel Boone Bowens. Daniel was married Before Mary. His first wife had two known sons by him and then in Spring of 1820 she was raped during an Indian raid on the family's cabin. Rosannah was the product of that rape, she was born 1 MAR 1821 at her granny's home in Virginia. After returning to Ohio with the baby; Rosannah's mother could not deal with the scorn from the rape and commited suicide within two years. Daniel was told by family and neighbors to give the girl back to the Indians. He did not and raised Rosannah as his own. If you have a DNA test done like many of my family, you should find you have Iroquois Indian blood in the mix.
I thought you might want to know this information to keep the record straight. My side have search for proof of this family lore for many decades. Our DNA and a termination of my third great-grandmother's Indian heritage circa 1903 helped confirm this family story (plus other things).
Blessings in all your endeavors,

Thanks, I will delete mine when I get the links done.

Lori, that is fine. I'm not trying to gain numbers just sort of trying to uniform the families' memorials with correct information, possibly add family lore here and there. I will send you info and photos I would like added to her memorial, after the New Year. If you want you can add all/ part of the information and I will post the photos you approve. Wishing a Blessed Holiday Season to you and yours. Mary
|M. Richards||RE: Rose Varvel|
Lori, which one of her children do you descend from? I understand about the transfer, no bad feelings. We (Varvel descendants) are trying to link the family to make it easier for present day and future relatives to locate them and which branch is which, especially with so many like names. You and yours have a Blessed Christmas.
