Regarding the memorials that I have created: If there are corrections needing made or to ask for a transfer, please contact me through the "Suggest a Correction" link. You can find this link by clicking on the "Edit Tab" which is located on the top far right hand side of the memorial.
Please feel free to use any photo that I have posted here and to ask me for transfers. I always prefer that loved ones manage memorials if at all possible.
If the memorial is of a person who is not related to me, I will transfer ASAP. If the memorial is my own direct relative, especially a grandparent, I will let you know, and most likely decline the transfer at this time. If that relative is closer related to you, I will gladly transfer. If I ever see that I am no longer able to manage my own family memorials, I will happily transfer to someone who will take good care of them.

|Carol Dreesen||James Abney Duce|
Went to Mt. Zion Cemetery on Harper Rd off Sawdust Road near The Woodlands, Texas and looked at every marker. Did not find James but there were over 20 graves that did not have a name. Did not find any other grave with the last name Duce. So sorry!

Hi. When did you photograph Cool Springs cemetery in Rusk County? John Harmon is my 3rd great grandfather. I went there about 10 years ago looking for the cemetery but could not locate it off the road going back there. My wife got nervous about being back there so I had to call off my search. Just wondering how long ago it was. Thanks. Kerry Girolamo

If he is, do you know his exact Birth date? I'm leary of putting the markers on his page unless I can get an exact date? Thanks for your help...

I apologize for taking so long in responding. My daughters have taken jobs in West Texas so in the midst of moving our world about 500 miles. The task is pretty daunting. I am afraid that I would be of no help with this endeavor since I rarely will be in the area of Pine Hill. When things settle down - I will be happy to assist with at least my family members. Not sure whether you found info on two without headstones - they are extended family and I suppose I will purchase headstones if nothing is done in the near future. The "boot" is marking the ashes of Deewitt Dews and the "horseshoe" creation that spells Megan is Megan Colleen Dews Martin. I am disgusted that no markers have been provided.
Thanks for all of your hard work! You have had to duplicate all that we did in 2005. I am so sorry.

Thanks for the response. I am disappointed but maybe others will turn up some day! I do not know what managing a memorial entails and haven't seen the ones you have done. If it something that I can do, I would not mind it but wouldn't want to do a poor job. We did an inventory and photographed each headstone, then submitted it all to the state Archives. I have all of the info on old floppy discs but have never updated it. Let me know if the "transfers" are something I can handle - I am not familiar with the process or organization of find a grave.

I found this cemetery in 2001 and after researching - located my 3G grandfather and grandfather buried there. While teaching at SFASU, I managed to map and photograph the entire cemetery with the aid of my two daughters. We recorded the inscriptions of each headstone on our inventory. We began to care for it and I researched the history, applied for the historic designation, paid for the marker, and eventually, in 2005 had it placed. The only person I have ever met with any ties to the cemetery was Joe Sealy. I have not heard from her since 2006. I would greatly appreciate having contact with someone who cares about this cemetery. The map of graves on both sides (black and white) along with the history of the cemetery that we recorded were on Gloria Mayfields's website - cemeteries of Texas. I do not know if they are still online. I mowed and cleaned it with my daughters until three years ago when I had to employ a young man from Henderson - too much for this old lady. Please connect me with any other persons interested in this place.
