Wow!! MANY thanks for your friendly and informative reply! That was so generous of you to find all this for me! How exciting! I need to re-subscribe to Ancestory.com (?) I think, if you recommend that. I had it for awhile but didn't tke the time to look a few years ago.
I never knew Aunt Roxie but my mom said she was a real character. So neat to be able to discover and communicate through this site! I LOVE looking at these old graves, they tell such a story!
I wish we WERE related - you're a jewel in the family tree!!
Hope to be able to chat with you again!

Thank you for your posts and helpfulness!
I think we are related. Roxie was my dad, Eugene M.Lowry's aunt, and Peter Bascomb Lowry was his grandpa. I'm so curious about their mother, Ellen Battle. It says on my dad's father's page (Claude J. Lowry, Roxie's brother), that their mother was born in Texas. Can't find anything about her.
How are you related to all this?
Look forward to hearing from you!

|Carol and Kelly Arnold||RE: Sep Smith Family - Burks Connection|
Nice to hear from you. So Kelly now has yet another 'many times removed' Texas cousin. Elizabeth Bonds Smith was his Great Grand-mother (married to Gip Smith) and Martha Burks Bonds would have been his Great-Great Grandmother....your Abel Robinson Burks would be linked as a Great ...Uncle.
Thanks for the connection. We currently do not have any family information before Elizabeth Bonds to share with you, but let us know if you are interested in any particular details. If we every find out, we can certainly pass them on to you.

Someone else claimed the Frances Smith picture so I can't fulfill the request. I do have the picture though so if it the other photographer hasn't posted in a week or so, let me know and I will add it.

Gayle: Havent had much luck in the newspapers looking for the people you asked about. I cant find a copy of the 1930 newspapers but I will continue to look. Send me your phone # and we can talk about this. Joe

Gayle: I Mainly have info on J. Louie Burks and his relations. I think there is another Burks family in Frankston but I have not make a connection to J. Louie's kin. I go to church with J. Louie's son Johnny Charles Burks and his wife Judy (Wofford) Burks.
I also have a lot of info on the Wofford family.
I volunteer at the Frankston Museum and currently working on getting the old newspapers in order so people can come in and look at them. I think we have papers from about 1910 to present. I have fun looking thru them and getting articles for people in my Family Tree Maker program. Have lots of articles on the Burks, Woffords, Perrys, Westbrooks, Cokers, etc. So let me know how we can exchange data, and if ther is any particular name you areinterested in. Joe Lilly

|Beth Doughty||Millie Mae Percer|
I just stumbled across the photos of Millie Mae (Perser) Bridgewater and her husband Charles, my great-grand parents. Thank you so very much for posting those; they're fantastic. I had only seen one of them before. I can easily see my father in his face (and in mine). Thank you! Beth Doughty
