I love history and started doing a little genealogy in May of 2006. It's interesting and surprising to learn how much family lore has been shared or dropped between different branches of my relatives. Toss in one ancestor who was a high achiever and his brother, who seems to have lived rather under the radar, both Civil War vets, and paths diverge like crazy. Add some vanished gravesites, a young husband and father who ran out on everyone, lost NARA military records, migration west, and at least one house fire, and you've got enough mystery to last a lifetime.

Its fun though. :-) Drop me a line if you have any of these names in your family: McClellan, Lewis, Alldredge, Richeson, Reddy, Curtis, Woodworth, Shrum, Dodge, Bresnen, Pancoast, Perry, Conlin, Alden, Brazier, Wilmot, Vivian, Reed, Edgill, Patchin, Kellogg, Dixon. I'm happy to share any photos I have.

The Rules: Please abide by Findagrave's stated guidelines and common courtesy. I will not post full obituaries, names of living people (or anyone I suspect is still living), or any material I know to be under copyright. Please e-mail and ask permission if you'd like a copy of a photo you see on one of my pages, and I'll do the same for you. I'm happy to transfer ownership of a page for anyone within 4 generations of you, unless they're also a direct ancestor within 4 generations of me. And even then it might be negotiable. Feel free to ask.

RE: Tillmont, Joseph B. - headstone photo request
Diane,
Many thanks fr this information, which is quite useful. If you could visit the cemetery and take photos of any markers that are in plot 5 and then let me know what you find, that would be great. You never know. Some name you find there might show a connection with other research I am doing on this branch of my family tree.
Thanks,
Michael

Thank you for getting with me on the photo request.

I'll update that info on my family tree and I did share your findings with the manager of the memorial. I will also remove the photo request.

Truly appreciate your time and effort!
Thanks,
Chris

RE: Alldredge, Chaney Pleasant- 2013 photo
I don't know if they have done maintenance on stones or not - I just tend to draw towards the older stones first and specially if they're readable like this one was - I take photos. I find in the spring the older stones show more - not sure if the winter sun bleaches them out but I have better luck in the spring with the old stones. JoAnn

RE: Re: John Wilder
Hi
I see you've sent me some edits for John Wilder at St. Anthony. The one buried there was 85 years old and was born in Ohio according to the cemetery records. I think we figured out a while ago that this one is not the one you were looking for. Before I decline the edits let me know if you have any more insights on this.

RE: Wilder, John Evans - # 108843499
Hi
I'm wondering if there might possibly be 2 John Wilder's. The cemetery records show that the John Wilder in St Anthony was 85 years old, born in Ohio, and died while living at a home for the elderly. If he were born in 1877 I don't think he would be living in a home for the elderly. Let me know what you think

RE: Re: E. A.
Hi,

I am not a relative. I just came across the article while conducting some research and found the story to be quite remarkable.

Take care,
Ron
