One of the greatest parts of doing this research is finding the unexpected treasures that pop up around many corners. Like going to a cemetery to take photos of one grave and discovering three other people that have been elusive are buried in the same spot.

I would be willing to do cemetery photos in my immediate area if asked. At this point in time, it may take me a little time to get photo requests done, but if you are willing to work with me a bit, I would be happy to help out if I can.

Adding a new project here as of late. Assisting with transcriptions of cemeteries for Rensselaer County New York. Just trying to make the Black Hole of information for NY a little brighter if possible .

2016 - I apologize to anyone that has been asking for transfers or edits. I've been swamped renovating my house !! Its taking much longer than I expected... I will be updating / editing as time permits :)

John Hritz of Streator
I have info on John Hritz brother of (not.son of) Michael and Mary Hritz of Streator. But maybe you mean their stepson, John Mihalovich.

So Sorry!
I did not add that the cemetery is Millertown- sorry for the omission- didn't want you to wonder which cemetery a Smith is in!

Thank you for your hard work!
I ma most impressed with all that you have done. My family roots are in Rens. Co. though I now live in MI. I sent in a correction for one family member through the FindAGrave link- regarding William C Smith and Margaret Smith. She is his mother and not his wife. His wife is Helen Gloss Smith. Several other family members are in the same cemetery, with several different last names.

John Frederick Eycleshymer
Hi Denise F,

I see that you have added Find A Grave memorials for the Eycleshymer Family in Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York, in East Pittstown Methodist Cemetery.

My 3rd Great Aunt, Sybil Jane Sherman married Nicholas A. Eycleshymer on February 5, 1845 in White Creek, Washington County, New York. In June 25, 1880 they are living in Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York.

Nicholas A. Eycleshymer is the son of Nicholas Eycleshymer (1788-1875), Find A Grave Memorial #54817431, and grandson of John Frederick Eycleshymer, your Find A Grave #68082864.

My question is; do you have any information as to the death and burial information for Nicholas A. Eycleshymer (1818-??) and his wife, Sybil Jane Sherman Eycleshymer (1821-??) and or if they are buried in the East Pittstown Methodist Cemetery?

I would appreciate any information as I have run into a brick wall as to their death and burial.

Thanks & Best Regards,
jsmycs

I have photos of Lucy's grave if you would like them. Several years ago, my cousins and I cleaned up the Gibbs Cemetery. Contact me at phill.gibbs@comcast.net

Lucy was my great great granduncle's wife.

Elizabeth De la Rie Cleber
Hi Denise, Thank you for all of the information and photographs you posted for/about the Harkema family. I am one of the 18 grandchildren of Peter Harkema, my mother being Dorothy Harkema Bolla. I was particularly thrilled to see the photo of my mother's grandmother, Elizabeth Cleber. My mom use to tell me stories about Grandma Elizabeth but I never dreamed I'd be able to see what she looked like! I've called some of my Cleveland cousins (I live in Nevada) and they were as surprised and pleased as I was. Is there a way I can get directly in touch with you? Perhaps we can exchange family stories. Regards, Andrea

It's a small church cemetery, they don't have an office but there may be a phone number listed for the church and they may have records or be able to put you in touch with some one who does.

I'm not sure what you mean by "if the cemetery is close enough that you would be willing to check"... check what? Her stone was found in that cemetery, that's how I got the photo.

RE: John Hritz # 41812651
I kind of assume that the other John Hritz & Anna there were his parents, but no, sorry, have no other info at this time. I will try & get to the local library in the next week or so to see if I can find an obituary for John Jr. to see if it can confirm his parents or any other family connection.
