Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an avid amateur genealogist, researching many different lines for both family and friends. I include all collateral lines, so my area of interest is extensive.

I have added many memorials in the hope of helping a fellow researcher. Permission is granted for personal use of any of the photos I have added, please just cite the F.A.G. memorial number and cite me as the photographer. This includes ancestry.com - it's so disappointing to look at a public family tree and find one of my photographs without mention of the photographer.

I decline to give permission to use my photos for resale, for profit, or to upload to a different web site. Do not copy them to other grave related sites such as BillionGraves.com.

TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING GRAVESTONES by Maureen Taylor

[for full article, go to Genealogy.com] http://www.genealogy.com/64_gravestones_print.html

"Technique:

Since you are creating a record of the cemetery in addition to photographing a single stone you should take several images of the same marker. For example:

1. One showing the whole cemetery.

2. Shoot an image that includes the closest stones and provides context.

3. Photograph the whole gravestone so that inscription and carving are visible.

4. Make sure to take at least one picture where the inscription fills the camera frame.

Unless you are extremely lucky, most of the stones you want to photograph will not be straight due to ground settling. In the case of leaning stones, tilting the camera should eliminate the slant."

Our greatest treasure is our family, not only the warm circle around the Christmas tree, but all those whose lives gave us life, and those who will carry our love into the future. ~ Anonymous

It avails not, neither time or place—distance avails not;
I am with you, you men and women of a generation, or ever so
many generations hence;
I project myself—also I return—I am with you, and know how it is.

Just as you feel when you look on the river and sky, so I felt;
Just as any of you is one of a living crowd, I was one of a crowd;
Just as you are refresh'd by the gladness of the river and the bright flow,
I was refresh'd... ~ "Crossing Brooklyn Ferry" by Walt Whitman

RE: Coulterville Cemetery Photos
Modesto is only an hour away for us. If you have a plot number, or a hint, it would be a breeze to do photos.

Your welcome and thanks for the comments. I noticed you have more requests for Miners. It was very cold today so I just made a quit sweep. When it warms up I will return and try to find them. There are a lot of stones toppled over and froze to the ground.

Margaret McMinn update
Thanks for making the update to Margaret McMinn. She was a very distant relative but it is also nice the get couples hooked up together. Thank you also for your interest in genealogy, creating memorials, and helping out a fellow amateur genealogist.

Thanks!
Thank you for entering the information for my biological father's gravesite. I first learned of him when I was 20 and stationed with the Air Force in Kansas. He was brutally murdered by several stab wounds when I was just 1 year 16 days old and my younger brother was 10 days old at the time. We are grateful for the work you and others are doing to bring this information to light. Blessings!

Travis E & Elizabeth Catherine Pate Windrow
Personna, for your information

With reference to a photo request I received for Elizabeth Catherine Pate Windrow. I spoke with a Windrow family member and to her knowledge and my search in the Triune Cemetery, we do not believe Elizabeth Catherine Pate Windrow is buried in Triune Cemetery. She told me Elizabeth married a Dyer after the death of Travis E. Windrow who is buried in the Windrow Community Cemetery. She also stated Windrow Community cemetery in not in the best of condition and some markers are very hard to find or read.

There were two more children born to Travis E. Windrow and Elizabeth Catherine Pate Windrow. I have linked John Carson Windrow, b. July 9,1860, d. May 18, 1944; buried Triune Cemetery, married Sara Elizabeth Glenn. The other son was James Travis Windrow, b. May 1, 1862, d, May 4, 1941, burial unknown.

Travis E. Windrow - # 41007510
Sorry, I am researching and working on a bio for father, mother, and his brother Byars Windrow, and had forgotten I had made a previous request. He keeps turning up in my research. Sorry to disturb.
