I found findagrave.com while doing geneology research. It's one of the biggest assets in my research. I wanted to be able to give back and decided to become a findagrave member. |
I believe that memorials should belong to family members whenever possible, as family have a personal interest in honoring their relatives and are better able to complete, maintain and improve memorials with additional details and research. I don't have a problem transferring a memorial no matter how distant you are as long as I'm not related.

Larry, you may want to remove the "no marker" as there is a marker attached on this memorial. Thanks.
|Ron Rader||Gilbert and Elma Best|
I do not know the caretaker of the Numa Cemetery, nor do I know how to get in touch with them. I don't know anyone in the Appanoose County Genealogical or Historical Society. If you do a search for the society on the internet, they might be able to steer you in the right direction.
I think the nearest library in the area that 'might' have newspaper microfilm is the one in Centerville, Iowa. I'm not sure if they would have his obituary. That would be a good place to start.
I saw a record on Ancestry that said Gilbert died in May 1976 in Ottumwa, Iowa; but I could find no further information.
I tried checking NewspaperArchive.com for his obituary in the Centerville paper, but they didn't have newspapers for the year 1976. I then checked the Ottumwa Courier newspapers, but they do not have his obituary for May 1976, or any other date in 1976.
I am sorry I couldn't help you any further.

OK, sound good. Wishing you good luck on your remodeling--I am a little "green with envy" as I would love to be able to get involved with something like that. But, not in the cards for me!!! Just take it one day at a time!!! Thanks, again, Larry, for helping me out with Maxine!!!

Larry, I have added the phrase CENOTAPH MEMORIAL and the way to click on the Park View Memorial Gardens Cemetery Memorial. There will be no need to add the photo at Park View--that was a reading boo boo on my part :( Would you like to have Maxine back? I can send her back if you would prefer that. I know that life takes us in many directions and "busy" seems to be a word that keeps us hopping--in REAL LIFE and on Find A Grave. Thank you for sending Maxine to me to fix with the Cenotaph adjustment. The marker photo is very nice. Thank you for ALL you do by adding marker photos and Memorials to Find A Grave, your time and efforts ARE very much appreciated!!!! Pam
Thanks for the transfer - I'll be working on that memorial for a while.

Hi, I just recently joined findagrave and I noticed that the memorial for my step-great-great-grandfather, Charles W. Wolfskill, is under your ownership. Could you please transfer it to me?
The memorial number is 130402726
Thanks in advance!

You have a photo of the gravestone for Roy & Ray Baker posted on your memorial for Thomas Leroy Baker (85132586) at the Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
I believe you need to create memorials for Roy & Ray and post the photo there.

I added that a request had been made for a picture of his headstone and the reply was it is an unmarked grave. Then I noticed that a William Fischer, Jr. has requested that no picture of his headstone be added. I have no idea who William Fischer is or why he would make such a request. I haven't been asked to remove Joseph Phipps from find a grave.

You're very welcome. Just wish he would have had a marker to find. :)
