I photograph cemeteries in my area of the western U.S. and also photograph as many as I can when I travel. |
FIND A GRAVE COUNTY KEEPER, CLAY & ROANE COUNTY, WV, CURRENT ACTIVITY - My ancestors are from central West Virginia and I'm the Find A Grave County Keeper for Roane County and Clay County, WV. I'm currently reviewing Clay County cemeteries on Find A Grave. The book "Clay County Cemeteries", 4th ed., published in 2011 by the Clay County Landmarks Commission and Historical Society is an invaluable resource. My hat is off to the ladies who put so much work into compiling it. They didn't miss much. It's the most complete cemetery book I've ever seen. I'm also dismantling an old private Clay & Roane County, WV, genealogy website, adding that information to memorial pages here. In addition, I use WV's online birth, marriage and death records; Ancestry.com; and various other resources to insure that memorial pages I post, and corrections I suggest for other memorial pages, are accurate.
SUGGESTING CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS & LINKS - If there are any changes or links that need to be made to memorials I post, please use the Edit Tab on the memorial page to Suggest Corrections, Additions or Links.
OBITUARIES - If you send an obituary via the Suggest a Correction link, please do not expect to see it appear verbatim on my memorial pages. I don't copy and paste obits that may contain information about living relatives. If there is new info in the obit, I will add it to the memorial page and I may post excerpts of the obit if the source is cited.
REQUESTS TO TRANSFER MEMORIAL PAGES - Since I have no personal connection to many of the memorials I post, I'd be happy to transfer ownership. Please use the Edit tab on the memorial page you want transferred. Then click "Suggest Any Other Correction or Addition". From there you can send me your transfer request. Please include your member number. I process those pretty quickly. If I have to search for the memorial page or your member number I may not get to it for a quite a while.

It turns out that Hannah Berner's (25552100) husband William F Berner (68407792) is actually buried in California. I am checking with sextant at Rose Hill. My guess is that the William Berner (107599315) was his plot but never used since he moved to California to be near his son. After I hear from Rose Hill I will delete the memorial 107599315.

Thanks so much for your help! I tranferred Hattie to Ramsey Cemetery in Enoch as you suggested. The "Bragg Cemetery" on her d/c was obviously incorrect, and I thank you for your research. God bless!

Hi Marilyn - thanks for writing. Hattie's d/c at WV Gov Archives online states she is buried in Bragg Cemetery in Clay Co. WV, so that is what I went by.
Is there a headstone for her in Ramsey Cemetery, do you know?
