Bio Photo Several years ago my Father asked me to find out as much about his family as I could as his Dad had not been around much when he was younger and his parents eventually divorced. That simple request sent me on my journey that now includes my husband and my children and takes me to Canada, Europe, and the Hawaiian Islands with the long history of the Kohala Coast. The importance of doing family research was strongly reenforced with the sudden passing of my 25 year-old daughter, Sara, in 2010. Now my husband and I jointly take pictures for other families in hopes of putting their families together, if only years later.

George W. Bonner
Thank you for posting the photograph of the headstone of George W. Bonner and his first wife Annie. The synopsis of a little family history verified a story long told that this Bonner family got to Los Angeles from Oregon. Your posting is vey much appreciated!

RE: Sauer's
They were the first requests I found that day. They were buried close to the edge so as I drove through, I saw them from the car.

Julia Gay Roser
Hi! Yesterday I went to Fairview Cemetery to try to photograph the monument for Julia as per your request. This cemetery has a diagram posted with all of those interred and where they are buried. I was unable to find any Roser on the diagram. I also photographed the diagram in case I missed it. I looked it over again this morning and can say with confidence that her name is not on it. I did locate a David Gay with a monument that I photographed and posted. His wife is there as well but with no marker. Not sure if she is related to them or not but as her maiden name appears to be Gay, I figured I would look there. No luck. If you could tell me what led you to believe she is buried in this cemetery, perhaps I could be of more help. Sorry

Hi Susan,

See that you left a flower for William Henry Rowe. Thought you may like to know I just added his obituary. It is probably from an Elgin, IL newspaper, but I do not know which one.

RE: Bannisters
In 1948 the present cemetery property for Nuʻuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, which is located directly below the Royal Mausoleum, was acquired from the Robinson Estate and the cemetery was incorporated July 11, 1949.

Oʻahu Cemetery is across the street and slightly down the hill from Nuʻuanu Memorial Park and is also on Nuʻuanu Ave. It was founded in 1844 and to the best of my knowledge it is the oldest cemetery on Oʻahu. This is from Wikipedia: "The Oʻahu Cemetery[1] is the resting place of many notable early residents of the Honolulu area. They range from missionaries and politicians to sports pioneers and philosophers. Over time it was expanded to become an area known as the Nuʻuanu Cemetery.[2]" and "Strictly speaking, the original 1844 cemetery is called "Oʻahu Cemetery", although the extended area is often called "Nuʻuanu Cemetery"[17][18]".

Does this help? What exactly are you looking for... e kala mai, Iʻve forgotten if Iʻve helped you with this before...

Shockleys Buried in Mt Olive
Dear Mrs. McKinney,
I am going out tomorrow to take photos at Mt Olive Cemetary. I have looked at a site with most of the Graves that are marked, I don't see anything for the Shockleys you are requesting photos for. There are like 8 photo requests for Mt Olive, I haven't seen one of them that are on the Mt Olive site. There are like 358 Interments according to the Find A Grave Site, many are on the Mt Olive Site, but many are not. I don't see your people on their site, sorry. I'll look tomorrow anyway.
