I have been doing genealogy for almost 25 years and love to walk through cemeteries and photograph old headstones. I feel everyone needs to be remembered and was so pleased to find a site which provides a place for that.
George A. & Mary (Smith) DeSanno I wrote your private email some weeks back but never heard from you - I'll try this site. I'm searching for info. on one of their children: Catherine "Kate" DeSanno who married James DeCoursey. Do you know anything more about Kate? Did she & James have any children? I have many more questions but will wait till we connect. Re: George I too saw the description in his record that indicated his complexion was "dark" - any idea what that meant back then?? Thanks very much, Lynn Sept 18, 2013
RE: Note left for Emily Well, thank you so much for writing back :) Nice to see that you're still active here. And, you know what? I am not related at all. I just love helping people find their people on here. I've been doing this for just over 2 years and still love it as if it were my first day. With the Eshelman's, it was only one photo request that I claimed and that led me to others of their family in Tacoma....it just kept going and going. Thank you, so much, for caring!
RE: Lori A Ray Hi Karen, Yes, I am related - distantly. She would be my 4th cousin thru the wife of John Burns Leatherwood Sr, Sarah Ann Burns. Sarah Ann was the d/o John Arthur Burns, s/o Charles B Burns (my 4th Great Grandfather) - quite a stretch. The name Adaline appeared for her on the 1880 census, and then she was Lori A on both the 1900 and 1910. Please, feel free to contact me directly if you would like to explore. I am always happy to find new cousins.
