Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a 'farm girl' who grew up and still live in Iowa.

I am trying to leave a legacy on Find a Grave for my children and grandchildren, and for others as well, by making family stories and links.

I found my great grandmother's headstone on Find a Grave quite by accident and have been hooked on this site ever since.

I enjoy helping others find relatives' and friends' resting places. I have posted many memorials and photos from various cemeteries so others can gather data.

I create memorials with dignity and respect for those who have passed. I will remove a memorial if it is too sensitive for you, and I will remove photos you do not want on a memorial.

I am not interested in amassing large numbers of memorials. I am interested in contributing data and connecting family members.

Forgive me for not yet having all burial locations identified...it takes time to research. Also, some mortuaries do not list burial or disposition details in their obituaries now, so there exists some unknowns.

I do transfer memorials if you have information to add, unless it is for my relative.

I often try to add information and family links by researching a family. This takes time, so some memorials I've created are not done.

Please let me know if there is an error so it can be corrected. I want to have true and appropriate information.

I usually make edit requests the same day. I appreciate knowing about added posts to my memorials such as photos or obituary clippings that would help me link family members.

I am happy to share photos with you to use in your family albums. Feel free to contact me.

I took gravestone photos of these entire cemeteries. All are posted for:
Paton Cemetery - Paton, Iowa
Dawson Cemetery near Paton, Iowa
Antioch - Clarksville, Iowa
Lynwood - Clarksville, Iowa
Old Town - Clarksville, Iowa
Pleasant Valley - Clarksville, Iowa
Butler Center - Butler County, Iowa
St. Mary's Catholic - Greene, Iowa

I added quite a few photos for McCallsburg Cemetery and Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. I will be taking photos in several Butler County cemeteries when possible. As of fall 2014, I am adding 1000 photos I took at Rose Hill in Greene.

Private John B. Varble and the men of Co. A, 86th Illinois
I want to Thank You again for adding the pictures of John B. Varble to his Find A Grave Memorial. They are welcome additions to his site. I have added more information to his site and would welcome any comments or additions that you might have to add. I would also love to see other pictures of John or of any of his tentmates that he may have collected pictures of that he may have taken pictures of at any of the reunions that he attended over the years that you or any other family members may run across. Keep in mind, that many descendants of members of the 86th have no pictures of their ancestors, who served in the 86th and many times. Many members of the 86th collected and traded pictures with their friends, which have been passed on down through their family. I have been fortunate to get copies of some of the pictures in these collections, thus getting copies of pictures for descendants who had never seen a picture of their ancestors. So if you ever run across pictures of John B. Varble with any of his fellow members of Co. A, please remember me as being interested in seeing copies added to John's site or to the site of his fellow soldiers in Co. A. Thanks again for all you have contributed to John's site. Sincerely, Baxter

Re: Mahala Bennett
I dont have anything either. In Mary's obit it says she leaves 2 sister both living in Iowa. So my guess is that her parents probably moved here as the children were still home. I would think Mahala is burried somewhere in Iowa?

RE: Mary Geisler
Mary is listed as living; I no direct knowledge to confirm or refute other than she is listed in Whitepages and there is no obit.

In 2012 her son Daniel joseph Geisler passed; in his obit his father was listed as deceased and mother listed as living in Churdan IA.

Daniel J. Geisler, the of son of Edward Jr. and Mary (Coan Connelly) Geisler, was born July 30, 1958 at Jefferson, Iowa and departed this life November 30, 2012 in Churdan, Iowa. He was survived by his mother, Mary Geisler of Churdan, brothers and sisters...
