Thank you for the information. Do you know if this was forwarded to Find A Grave?

Thanks so much.

Jim, thanks for you efforts and photo. I noticed that the stone said ME (Maine) and checked with Tom, the webmaster of Vermont in the Covil War website, where I am a volunteer helping to track down Vt CW veterans. He believe this is a different soldier and that the Vt CWH was KIA at Spotslvamis and likely an unknown interred there. So I would suggest deleting the photo. The contributor we know is deceased and it may be her family maintains her findagrave site. Thanks again, All Best Wishes, Kathy / Sabina

Got it and I am very grateful. The cemetery said they had no record of him being buried there. I wonder if it is because of the Wm instead of William. Anyway, thank you and thanks for your service in the military.

I am sharing this message that was posted on the "I Grew Up in Valley, AL" Facebook group today 6/28/14.

If anybody has family buried out at Resthaven you may want to go check on their lots! We went out today and grass is almost knee high. We cut around my parents graves but the entire place is in shambles! There are graves that still have dead flowers piled on them from the funeral, lots of graves with no grass and lots of graves that have the vases missing off them! Anywhere there is grass it's almost knee high!! It's a sad sight!!!
feeling annoyed.

I'm forever grateful for this photo. Thank you! This confirms that my 4x great grandfather from NY somehow ended up in Virginia. You've just helped break down a brick wall. Thank you for your time!

What a visit! It was going back in time; no T.V., no English radio......we just played cards and got to know all our neighbors on base.
