|I am a family history researcher. I have really appreciated all the information I have found on Find A Grave and consider it a great site and I am so grateful to all the people who post information and photos.|
I do have a problem with people who refuse to transfer memorials of people to whom they are not related to someone who is related. I will never do that. Generally I only put up memorials for people to whom I am related, even if only as an in-law, and I will always transfer to someone more closely related.
If I am in a cemetery and end up with photos of graves of unrelated people, I may create a memorial, but will gladly transfer it to someone who is related or wants to maintain that memorial.
Because of the confusion of having three cemeteries named "Bethel Cemetery" in Athens Co., OH, and some burials that belong in one of the Bethels being listed in Canaanville Cemetery, Athens Co., OH, I have made memorials to people I am not related to in order to try to straighten out who is where. Again, I will gladly take them down or transfer them if requested.
Bethel Cemetery (sign says), known as Bethel Ridge Cemetery,Gloucester, OH 45732, in York Twp., Athens Co., OH.
Bethel Cemetery, Ames Twp., Athens Co., OH, just west of the junction of Pete Smith Rd. and Dutch Creek Rd., a little after crossing the creek, on the right. Land donated by Stalder family, part of the original Swiss Colony of Athens Co., OH; land was part of their farm.
Bethel Cemetery, Coolville, OH 45723, Troy Twp., Athens Co., OH. Sign says "Right of Way Entrance Only."
Canaanville Cemetery, next to Canaanville United Methodist Church, 15650 Mcafee Rd. (Twp. Rd. 605), Athens, OH 45701.

|Jan Fenter||RE: Myrtle Malissa Gillette Long Peters, 126105986|
Thank you for posting the research I sent. Could you make a correction? The paragraph that starts, "Social Security Death Index shows Mrs. Peters was the mother of Mrs. M. H. Callender..." isn't really what I sent. The Social Security Death Index only gives the name of the deceased, and dates of birth and death. It didn't give the name of her daughter. What I sent was: "Social Security Death Index showed her as Myrtle Peters, born 30 May 1876." If you could fix that, it would be great.
Also, is it possible you could just have her last name at time of death as Peters instead of Long Peters, and just put the name of Long in the bio? When I was looking for Myrtle, I only searched for her last name a the time of her death, and other researchers would probably do the same. Since I didn't find her under Peters, I created a memorial page for her. Others might do the same.

Since your email address is not available, I'm leaving a public message.
While doing a photo project in the Lincoln Memorial Park mausoleum, Portland, Oregon, I found the crypt for Myrtle M. Peters, 1876 - 1967, took the photo and created the memorial page. Doing research, I just found the memorial you created under the last name Long Peters. I had only searched for Peters. I have determined my memorial page, under last name Peters, is a duplicate of your Long Peters. Some records I found give more than one year for birth and death.
Following is additional information I found in my research:
The Oregonian, Portland, Oregon, August 16, 1967, Obituary. [with photo]
MYRTLE M. PETERS
Mrs. Peters died Monday at Canby Nursing Home,
She was born in Red Bluff, Calif., May 30, 1875.
She later moved to Pendleton, where she received her education. Sixty-one years ago she came to the Portland area.
She was a charter member and past guardian of Neighbors of Woodcraft.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. LaVelle Callender, Woodburn, two step-daughters, Mrs. Alice West, San Francisco, and Mrs. Shirley Beard, Salem; two grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Oregon Death Index showed her as Myrtle M. Peters, death as 14 August 1967 in Clackamas County, Oregon, and her spouse was Martin.
Social Security Death Index showed her as Myrtle Peters, born 30 May 1876.
I'm deleting what I created and will upload the photos to the page you created.
Could you please transfer ambrose cochrans memorial number 68822117 to me. He is my grandfather

|BJWeir||Sailors' Snug Harbor Mariners' Descendants|
I'm a descendant of a Sailors' Snug Harbor mariner and trying to find other descendants to inform them about the status of the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery and the SSH Records Archives. I noticed that you had created a memorial for a SSH mariner (Charles Park), in the past. Let me know, if you are also a SSH descendant by contacting me at my email address (email@example.com) and I will send you the information about the SSH Cemetery and Records.

|BJWeir||Charles R Parks & Sailors Snug Harbor Cemetery|
I noticed that you had created a nice memorial for Charles R Parks, who is interred at the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery. Are you a descendant of Charles? I'm also a descendant of a mariner who resided at Sailors' Snug Harbor and is interred at the SSH Cemetery. If you are interested in more information about the SSH Cemetery and where to find his SSH Records, I can help you. You can contact me at the email address listed on my member name profile.

That photo was in The Enterprise May 2, 1918 along with his obituary.
The newspaper still exists today and is now called the Park Rapids Enterprise.

|Ed DeSteiguer||JR de Steiguer|
Thanks so much for putting JR de Steiguer on Find-a-Grave. He and Laura W. Ames were my great-great grandparents. I visited their graves in 1979, and later helped to place the newer small marker that sits in front of the broken obelisk. Their son, Dr. Edward de Steiguer, moved to Texas about 1868. He and his wife Julia Wolf Bryan were my great grandparents.
