"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it." I heard this phrase at a young age and was intrigued. To hold an old document or book in my hands imparts a feeling of connection with the past. I find cemeteries to be a peaceful place where I can reconnect with the very people who are the fabric of our country and what it has become both good and bad. Had the people on these pages never lived we, and our country, would be very different. |
"Find A Grave" provides me with a resource to search for my ancestors and help others discover theirs. I thank the founder for thinking of others in the course of his own research and putting that idea into practice on this site. I am also grateful to all of the contributors to this site who give their time & energy.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PHOTOGRAPHS POSTED BY ME ARE MY PROPERTY! THEY MAY BE USED FOR YOUR PRIVATE USE BUT MAY NOT BE REPRODUCED, POSTED TO OTHER WEBSITES, PUBLISHED OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PUBLIC USE WITHOUT MY WRITTEN PERMISSION!
Scaling photos to upload here loses some detail & sometimes makes the stones hard to read. I do maintain originals & will be happy to provide a copy if needed. If you need an unscaled copy please email me with the deceased name, cemetery name & memorial number. Any corrections to memorials that I manage may be submitted through the edit link on the upper right corner of the memorial.
I photograph and record cemeteries to preserve history. Providing families with information is secondary for me. If I have added relatives of yours and you would prefer to manage those memorials please request a transfer and I will transfer as soon as possible.

|Danielle Montalvo Garland||Nancy P Reeves|
Hello. I see that you maintain the page for Nancy P Reeves. I was wondering if you have any information on her. See, my Great Great Grandmother is Miranda Violet (Reeves) Cherry-Hurst (She married a Cherry, then a Hurst), and I have found through research that her parents were a George W Reeves and Nancy Reeves. I want to make sure if this was the right person. I show that my Nancy Reeves' maiden name was Turner if that helps. You can email me if needed: email@example.com
|Mark Warren||George Helm|
Do you know of a portrait of George Helm that is on Ancestry.com????...Im told that a person with a screen name Huskers9 has one. Do you or anyone else know of this?

You left a message on the cemetery web site for the Old Fellowship Cemetery. Are you related to James Miles Burress?

|Record Keeper||Odus Williams' family members|
Well, that last message shot out without me....
Here is the material that I have for Odus' family members who are currently listed on findagrave:
(his father was James Williams, whose first wife was Emaline Matilda Hays, daughter of Solomon Hays of Giles County, but so far James isn't listed.)
mother: Frances B. "Fannie" Webb 107640506
wife: Ella Lee Cottrell 83183244
son of Odus and Ella:
Odus Rollen Williams 31516446
wife: Irene Wallace 31517682
child: Coy Edward Williams 107641539
There are a bunch of other kids, but I'm still trying to track down burial records.
Hope this helps.

Gaila, you have made a duplicate of George's
memorial. His memorial was made on Oct. 30, 2007 by Aubrey and later transfered to me. She had his
picture of the tombstone placed on it at the time. He's listed in the Centenary Reformed UCC
Cemetery, in Winchester. Will you please delete
your memorial? He's connected to all of the family in the original memorial. Thank you..

I noticed, esp. In the Chapman Cemetery you took quite a few of the photos. My Great-Grandmom was born a Dickey, married Flourney Chapman. I just wanted to thank you.

Yes, I believe their headstones are actually face down now. The land the cemetery was on was in my family and the man they married turned it into a cow pasture (even though their own father was buried in that cemetery). He didn't care about the cemetery and let the cows destroy it. The man that owns it now should have a fence around it. My family knows the owners. My mother and I meant to go out there in January so that way the brush wouldn't be so thick and there wouldn't be any snakes. If you let us know when you will be going out there we may try to meet you with either my fiance or dad to be able to lift up the stones that are face down.

Was looking to see if anyone just happened to take a picture of my gg grandparents headstones J. W. Sadler & Martha Sadler and saw that you had taken a picture of Charles D. "Neal" Sadler. Thank you very much for that. I don't know when you did it, but was wondering if you had come across my gg grandparents. They should be buried out there too and have a headstone.
