Beaver Family
My grandparents had Westenhaver and Beaver names in the Evansville and Reedsburg and Sauk cemeteries.

I believe Christian Beaver from Pennysvania was related to my grandmother Pearl Mae Heffel Morgan. She came from Reedsburg and I believe she was born in Loganville Wisconsin. I believe her grandparents on her mother side of the family. I read an old pioneer history Orloff Twist Sauke County Wisconsin. that connected many names to her family and the pioneers of Pipestone Minnesota. Also Evansville, Janesville and Footville, Wisconsin. William Henry Heffel was her father.

RE: Clara Pease Beaver
Hi Eve,

There is a lot to keep track of isn't there. I have just gotten my books back out because we are having a Mueller family reunion this summer and I'm supposed to take the history along.

I have my Grandmother's, Alice Helen Josefine (Beaver) Mueller, marriage and death records. They state she was born Aug. 31 1893 her fathers name was Christian Beaver and mothers name was Clara Pease. I don't have their marriage information but Clara died in Aug. 1879. Christian married Elizabeth in 1882.

My Dad said Elizabeth is who insisted on Peter, Alice, and Riley being Baptized in the Catholic faith. The priest wouldn't Baptize Alice in that name because it wasn't a Christian name, so they added Helen to her name. That where Alice Helen comes from. Yes, she was the one who married Frances Xavier Mueller. They had 15 children not 17. My Dad was number 8 in the family.

When Christian married Clara (Louis) Diedeloff she had 9 children from her first marriage. She was Catholic as well. Even with two wives being Catholic Christian didn' t become Catholic until the last year of his life.

The following info is from Agnes Louis (daughter of Delilah Beaver Louis, Christian's niece.)
"Christian served in the Army or Military service calvery or
volunteers. He was with a troop running the Indians from Wisconsin to the wast. Chris was anxious to be involved with the fight with the Indians. His father, Peter did not approve of the Armys actions. He didn't think the Indians should be treated that way. For some reason the troop Christian was with was called back and didn't continue with the original orders. Later the rest of the regiment was all massacred."

Is there any way I could get a copy of Peter's diary? I no longer live in Wisconsin so, don' t have access to the Historical Society.

Which line of Christians are you connected with?

Clara Pease Beaver
Eve,

There are some corrections about Clara (Pease) Beaver and Christian Samuels marriages.

Christian Samuel m. Alice Bucher July 4 1851
They had one son named Peter. Alice died with childbirth of Riley. Some time after her death, Christian went to Fredricksburg Ia. Where the Swangers were then living. There he married Clara M. Pease. Christian and Clara had 2 children, Alice Helen Josefine (who is my grandmother) B. July 18, 1876, and a son named Rily B. March,1, 1878. Clara died of a sun stroke in Aug of 1879 age 27, when Riley was 18 months old and Alice was 3.
Married Elizabeth Hess
After Elizabeth's death he married Clara, Lewis Deitelhoff, who was a widow with children of her own.

There is much more to the story. I am interested in the information you have of where Peter was during the Civil War. I have a picture of him in that uniform. Also, do you know about his diary from the war? I have a few copied pages from the Historical Society in Madison but wish I had the entire copy.

The Beaver line is the only one I have not been able to place where they came from in Europe. It is only hear say of being from Alsace. Wish we could locate the rest of the line.

(Joshua) Christian Beaver
Hello Eve,

I am inquiring about the name Joshua. This is also my ancestry line and we only have Peter Beaver's Fathers name as Christian Beaver.

Where has the information come from of his first name being Joshua?

I did not have the picture of him in his military uniform from the Mexican War. I'm pleased to have it.

Thank you, J Henke
