I was born in 1930 in the family home in Toledo, Ohio, the fourth child of six. The family moved to Michigan in 1939 and I enlisted in the United States Marines in 1948 after high school. I was discharged in 1952 and married in 1953. I have two wonderful daughters, five grandchildren, two great grand daughters and four great grandsons. Family has always been important to me and genealogy just seemed to blend in with everyday conversations. I am researching the Fallis, Purkey, Onstott, Hutchinson, DeShanaway, Perron, Haver, Cassady, Holmes, and Hartman "Tree Trunks" with their many branches. I am also doing research on my wife's family that includes Pilbeam and Schultz families from Lenawee & Monroe County, Michigan areas.
Neville Lynne Clark Hello! It looks like something went screwy with a couple of changes I submitted. For some reason, on Marian Julia Wilcox Hart's memorial (ID 22651888), it lists Lucille N. Hart as a spouse, but this is obviously wrong. Would you please remove Lucille as a spouse on Marian's memorial? Also, you declined my request to add Neville Lynne Hart's parents on memorial 50875910. Did you have a specific concern about that change request? Thank you very much!
Tempie Byrd Sir...you posted a picture of the tombstone for Tempie Byrd in Brookside Cemetery, I was wondering if you could take a picture of the back of Tempie's tombstone and send it to me. her children's names are on the back and I would love to have a picture of it.
Samuel Onstott Find A Grave Memorial# 22268200 Hi Richard, I have come to question the accuracy of Peter Onstott Find A Grave Memorial# 97243018 being the father of Samuel Onstott Find A Grave Memorial# 22268200.The History of Defiance County article states that his (Samuel's father) "died in Wayne County, Ohio, to which place he had moved from Washington County, Penn, when Samuel was a small boy." This article does not give the name of Samuel's father. Peter Onstott of Moon Twp, Allegheny County, PA can be found of the US Census records for Moon Twp, Allegheny County, PA from 1810 through 1850 and his 1854 death certificate which names his children including a Samuel lists his place of death as Moon Twp, Allegheny County, PA not Wayne County, Ohio. Futhermore, a Samuel Onstott can be found on Moon Twp, Allegheny County census for 1860 and 1870 and then with daughter Laura in Pittsburgh in 1880. This is why I believe there were two Samuel Onstotts. Do you have any evidence that the Ohio Samuel is the son of Peter? If you do I would appreciate it if you would share! Thank you, Sally firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for all the work you have done at Brookside Cemetery. I have been researching Elizabeth Ward (Memorial No. 123991561). She was the wife of A. B. Ward and has two other children beside Richard buried in the cemetery, and I would truly appreciate your linking them to her name. They are: Henry Ward - Memorial #108327899 James D. Ward - Memorial #112085122
There was also an unnamed infant who I think is buried on the same plot that she is on. I have letters from her to family here in Ohio lamenting the deaths of all four of her children.
Her husband is not buried in Brookside as he remarried and moved on to settle in Kansas.
Findagrave Photographs Richard, thank you for all your contributions to the Findagrave website. I would like permission to use your photographs of my relatives' gravesites in my Family Tree files. I use the photos as source media and will gladly give you credit for your work. Becky
