A resident of Erie County Pennsylvania for 55 years. Have been researching my family since 1976. A descendant of James McCray who left Scotland and Ireland, settling in Concord Twp., Erie Co., Pennsylvania about 1795. I have visited and researched several cemeteries in Crawford, Erie, Venango and Warren Counties in Pennsylvania as well as cemeteries in Chautuaqua and Cattaraugus counties in New York State. I Am willing to share experiences as well as family information to those that are interested. My e-mail address is: email@example.com. Feel free to contact me. Friends and family know me best as Rusty, a nickname given to me at birth in honor of my Father's brother, Russell G. Davis who was killed at St. Lo France serving his country during the D-Day Invasion WW II.|

I noticed that you made a memorial for George W. Sheeley on June 15, 2011, 71376098. When I was entering my Sheely family, in 2013, did not type in Sheeley to double check to see if they were entered under that spelling. Unfortunately both spellings do not come up when checking to see if a memorial has been already established.
Please look at the SHEELY memorials that I entered in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Corry, PA, including one for George W. Sheely, 107594163l. I had a lot of info on him as I am a direct descent of his brother John M. Sheely, my great grandfather. Would you be willing to transfer George to me and I will put my info on your memorial if you want "credit" for it and delete the one I entered.
My grandfather: John M. Sheely - 107387453 - once you go into him, you will see the links to the different family members along with pictures and bio.
Note that I do have the 2005 Burial Book for Pine Grove in Corry, PA and would be happy to check any burial that you may have any questions on.
Thank you in advance,
Judith Wilcox Szczesny

I believe I have duplicated this entry. If you will look at Find A Grave Memorial# 129143131 you will see that I have slightly more information than you. Can I ask where you got the surname spelled "Alexander?" You can see from my entry, I knew very little about her married name, i.e. the correct spelling. I am hoping you have more information. If you are not related, I would appreciate your transferring management to me. My Find A Grave volunteer number is #47366522.

I'd like your permission to use your photos in my Ancestry family tree. I think I found your tree listed in Hints but I wanted to make sure if it wasn't yours.
The families are distant ancestors, in-laws of in-laws, etc. :)
Thanks so much,
John Cannon, New Richmond Cemetery - Find A Grave Mem. #53494208 -- I'm unsure if this John Cannon is the son of Stoddard and Polly Heminger Cannon of Chautauqua Co. NY. That John Cannon enlisted at age 35 in Sheridan, Chautauqua Co., NY. He served in the Civil War for 10 months in Co. C, 85th NY Infantry and was discharged in 1862 due to disability. In the 1900 Census of Richmond, Crawford, PA he is a farmer living with his niece, Amelia Miller as his housekeeper. He was born in Aug. 1826 as shown in that census.
There WAS a John Cannon who served with Co. G, 111th PA Infantry. He joined at age 15 in Philadelphia and was discharged from there in 1865. He would have been born about 1846.
So which John Cannon is buried here??? Is the gravestone military info. wrong? I would need to see either actual burial records or an obit. confirming that MY John Cannon was buried here. Since you first created this memorial, do you have access to records to clear up this confusion?
Thanks for any help. - K. M. Thomas

My 4th great grandfather, Cyrenius Brown, b. 1774 in CT died in Warren County PA in 1840. Are there any cemetery books that you have access to from Warren County that would have recorded where he was buried? A daughter of his, Hannah Pelton Brown Arters, was buried in Warren County, Youngsville Cem., but the cemetery was not old enough for him to have been buried there I think. (I don't think he was buried in Chautauqua, NY.) He was married to Experience Barnstable but I have no info as to where his wife was buried. I read your profile, and decided to ask for you help. Thanks for all the good work you have done for Find A Grave. My 3rd g grandfather, son of Cyrenius Brown, is listed on Find A Grave, Daniel B. Brown, and he died in Michigan, # 19475417. I saw where you added photos for a Brown family that may have been related to my Brown family.
7 sons of my 3rd g grandfather Brown served in the Civil War, GAR. My g grandfather Steiner and many other ancestors on Find A Grave lived in Venango County PA. I live in Texas. Too far for me to visit now.

Searched thru History of PA Solders, Civil War by Sam Bates. Found 21 people named George Morris. 15 had middle initials other than "A", leaving 6 possibles. I'll keep looking, maybe GAR listings.

I found my grandmother and uncle at Laurel in Erie. If you ever come across a Stewart Potter in your travels (I was told he was buried in Erie), please let me know.He was my paternal grandfather and I think he died in 1973. He's the last one I think I have to find in your part of the world. Thank you for all your help! I won't tell you that it was 72 degrees here today, and absolutely beautiful-don't want to make you jealous. I do miss the trees, though. Thanks again, Ann Marie

If you want to peruse the Davis memorials I've entered, I have several more military veterans in Erie County. You are welcome to any that pique your interest.
