|I am in the Bastrop and Marble Falls areas of Texas, visit several cemeteries, and can take pictures in them. I handle business for the Tobey Community Cemetery on County Road 123 near Marble Falls, Texas. Am interested in my family history in Bastrop, Blanco, and Burnet Counties of Texas.|

Thanks Kenneth. Never visited Coates Cemetery, but will try next time I'm up that way. I travel btw Houston and Austin a lot because Austin is my hometown. If you ever need a picture on that route, I'd be happy to try. I documented some of the graves at Clearview Cemetery in Bastrop. Thanks again, Nancy

Do you know why the spelling of the cemetery is Coates instead of Coats? William Coats, a planter born Georgia 1801, is found on several census records with various spellings (1860 Coatz (transcribed Carty), 1870 Coetze, 1840 and 1880 Coats. In the slave narratives he is listed as Billy Coats. Any info on this family will be appreciated. I am not a descendant, just a researcher, researching the Carothers/Carethers family who were slaves of Billy Coats of Bastrop County.
Thanks, Nancy Jordan

Thank you very much for the photo of Martha Norton's headstone, it means a lot to me.
I'm sorry but that was the only person located at this site by that name. Maybe the funeral home looked at the wrong person and gave the wrong site.
I went to the location for Arlena Eliz McKenney Sullivan and found only a stone for Opal Sullivan. Perhaps you know who this might be.
