Bio and Links
Bio Photo A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!

NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)

Colonial Dames of XVIIC 2009 Colonial Ancestor: Bartholomew Stovall, NC

Amelia Island Genealogical Society~ Corresponding Secretary 2004-2005 and Past Nassau County, FL Genealogical Website Committee member.

Published in the Quarterly magazines of the Southern Genealogical Exchange and Amelia Island Genealogical Society articles on my family and various others of North FL lines.

6th Generation Floridian: Ancestor Florida Pioneer Abner Sweat and son Samuel.

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

Greetings from Dublin.
Thank you for your observations.
Where would we be without rules!
The only links I ever normally use are to provide further historical information for a biography.
This is a more honest way of providing the info, rather that copying and pasting the work of others, and passing it off as one's own.
If a specific link on a memorial has upset you, let me know which one it is, and I will take another look at it.
Without wishing to be insulting to you, or any other contributor to Find A Grave, it absolutely amazes me why anyone would go to the trouble of "correcting" the work of a fellow contributor.
One must presume that each contributor is doing their best, and adding to the very valuable resource that is Find A Grave.
The only exception I make on this, is reserved for those who copy the work of others from other sites, and "pretend" to have done the work themselves.

Linda - It has been so long I'm not 100% sure. If I recall correctly it was from an obituary in either the LA Times or NY Times. Doug

RE: Thanks for the photos.....
Ooops - that came out wrong. Daniel is directly to the right of the tree planted in the foreground.

Typing too fast :)

This is what I had previously said on that page.
(Urn removed from Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen, WA by daughter Carol Guthrie on Aug 6 2012 and taken to Seffner, FL. )

This was in the cemetery records. I am not family and would be happy to transfer this listing to you if you are related.
