|Mary Bunney||RE: Jacob James Hughes|
My great-great-grandmother was Phoebe Anna Hughes Alexander. Her sister was Capitola (sp). I believe they were the daughters of Jacob James Hughes. I do not have much information on Phoebe Anna. We have a lot of pictures that belonged to her but we do not know who they are. She had my grandmother, Gwendolyn Alexander Hoelscher, label some of them when she was a little girl and the handwriting and spelling is questionable. :) Phoebe Anna was married to my great-great-grandmother, Robert Wilson (Brock) Alexander. They are both buried at Mt. Horeb Cemetery north of Clayton. I believe that Capitola (Aunt Cap) lived in Camp Point in her later years. Brock and Anna had two children, Edward and Robert Clyde. Edward never had any children and spent his adult life in Hobart, Oklahoma. Robert Clyde married Gladys Iola Seckman and they had 8 children of which my grandmother, Gwendolyn, was the oldest.
Has anyone ever found Jacob James Hughes' grave?
Grandma Gwen always said that Phoebe Anna's family was Pennsylvania Dutch. I do not know if that is true or not. Any information you would like to share would be great and we will be glad to share any information that we have as well.
Thank you for contacting me.

I went to Mountain View cemetery and they stated that he is not in this cemetery. It is a large cemetery in Prescott and I thought it was worth a shot.

The obituary does not state where or if he was buried. Best thing to do is contact Hampton Funeral Home and Cremation in Prescott, AZ @ 928-778-4400 and ask them...
Hope this helps,

I photographed headstones for James and Opal Mears at the same cemetery. Perhaps these are related.

I'm sorry it took so long...three times I've been out to the cemetery and just didn't see his headstone, although I took pictures of his other family members right next to him. Maybe the Mickey threw me off, but I was SO excited to finally see it.
Now I'm looking forward to creating memorials for my parents. Even though I take photos for findagrave I can't believe it never occured to me to add my own parents and grandparents.
My new friends on findagrave have inspired me!

You're welcome. I also added photos for the stones of her husband and daughter, in case you didn't see them.
