Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been married 57 years but we have no children. I was an elementary teacher for 21 years, quitting in the spring of 1972 to stay home and care for a nephew for five years. After he became school age, I went back to work in 1977 as a police dispatcher and continued in this work for approximately ten years. I began my family research shortly before quitting this job. I took over publication of a family newsletter when the original publisher was no longer able to continue. I enjoy exchanging information with other researchers.

My many photos are placed here for other researchers to use in their personal files---not to be claimed as one's own and posted elsewhere without permission.

RE: Elvin Smith
I added the 1923 date but it didn't seem to make a difference.

I dont have a marriage year for Mollie Belle Shockley Mills so it still leave Annie M Smith as first wife.

Elvin Smith
Don't have a date of marriage for Annie to Elvin so she shows on his memorial as first wife.

RE: Re: Charles Albert Gladieux
Hi Joan. This info was from the WWII draft registration card that he filled out in Apr 1942 (the so-called "old man's draft"). I've been indexing these records for familysearch.org and, when I have time, I sometimes check on FG to see if I can provide additional information from those original records. Unfortunately I've already returned that batch of records otherwise I could provide you a copy for your files. At some point, hopefully soon, his record will be available for download from the familysearch.org site.

Hope this helps,
Pat

RE: Re: Winston Terry
Joan,
I was the one who placed "Frost" on Hester's maiden name and asked it be changed to "Babb" yesterday after I found the marriage certificate. There are 2 more "Frost's" married to Howard's siblings. I have not researched that line since it isn't in my direct line. Howard's brother, William, and his first wife, Dot, are my paternal great grandparents. William's second wife Ethyl was a Frost. I have some diaries from my Grandmother written in the 1930s so will try to look through them again and see if I see any references. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Amma Roden
Just hang on to it, then. Amma was a link in getting my wife's Mayflower Society membership approved. Her ancestor Edward Doty was on the Mayflower.

RE: Re: Winston Terry
Joan,
In addition to the census records you list, I found a death certificate for Howard Winston Terry in Jasper Co MO. http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1934/1934_00008228.PDF
It lists his father as Howard B Terry and mother as Babb.
I have also located a marriage license for Howard B Terry and Hester Babb in Jasper Co Mo in 1915. I think this is the correct one. Lynn

RE: Marie Odelia Foertsch
If you are referring to Odella vs. Odelia my final suggestion is that you ask Ursula our web master.
Either go to http://www.birkenhoerdt.net/getperson.php?personID=I197018&tree=Suedpfalz
Then use the suggestion 'tab' or her email; ursula@birkenhoerdt.net

Marie's headstone states she was born in 1919 not 1917.
