I have been happily married for over 40 years and we have one son, Greg. Greg and his wife Jennifer have three children and live in CA. We live in WA state and I was born in Olympia, WA. I am the family genealogist (so they tell me) and have tried to accumulate as well as file all the family pictures and documents that I can find. |
My maiden name was YATES and the family is traced back to the marriage of Miles Yates and Deborah Holmes in Roane County, TN in 1840. Other family names include: KELSAY, BREEDLOVE, PENTECOST, SMITH, MOLINE, NORDGREN, REGISTER, POINDEXTER, OSGATHARP/OSGATHORPE and CHANCE.
My husband Jim's WILKERSON family is traced back to DE to the early 1800's when his GG-Grf Joshua was born there in 1811. Joshua and his brother George migrated from DE to IN in the mid 1800's and from there to IA by the 1840's. Other family names include: DESPAIN, WHITMORE, TRUE, OTTO, BOYERT, BEAN, SKAGGS, RIPLEY and JORDAN.

NO PROBLEM! KEEP IN TOUCH IF YOU FIND ANYTHING ON THEIR KIDS!

|Linda 'Rusty' Jenkins||RE: Re: David Oliver Holmes|
Since there is no way provided to merge memorials in Find-a-grave I just deleted the memorial I had made for David Oliver Holmes.

I was at Blue Mound researching something for contributor Jean today and am happy to say that the tree has been cut away from Kittie's stone. You may know this but she shares a stone with Cerilda and Sallie. Anyway, I noticed note that it was a duplicate of Ida Kittie Breedlove memorial. If you would want to transfer this back to me I will delete it. Whatever you chose to do, not really a need for the duplicate, and I had never noticed the other memorial created by Jean.

I am transferring Kittie's memorial to you. I had offered to transfer it to contributor csato, and she suggested that you may like to maintain it. I don't know where you live and if you get to the Blue Mound Cemetery often, but I am disappointed that it is not kept up. There is some lush vegetation that has almost taken over many of the grave stones, and it does not appear that it is mowed very often. Kittie's stone has a small tree growing in front of it. I first went there to fulfill a photo request and ended up taking photos of all the graves that are marked there and entering the pictures on findagrave. While doing this I also discovered that some of the graves had been missed when adding Blue Mound to the database. I try to find a relative for any memorial I create to transfer to. Hope you will accept the transfer. Kathy
|Louise||RE: Re: Harles Yates moved to Kelsay|
I have transferred all the Yates memorials that I created. Most were in Kelsay cemetery plus two from Rose-Fuller Cemetery. I happen to visit both of these cemeteries in the same day (along with Hall Cemetery). All the cemeteries are small and located in fields. My husband occasionally accompanies me on my cemetery trips since there are some places I will not venture alone. Beside our 4-wheel drive truck came in handy in going to Kelsay cemetery.
Glad to have the Yates memorials with family. I am not related to anyone in Tennessee. If you find other family memorials that I created, let me know and I will do a transfer.
Enjoy your research!
