Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a member of the Milford Cemetery Association and my phone number is 972-493-3616. Please call & leave a message if you need assistance.

I was born in Las Vegas, NV. My father helped build Hoover Dam from 1931-1936. I entered most of the graves in the Milford Cemetery. I also entered all of the Milford Black Cemetery names that I could find by going through death certificates for Ellis County, TX. I hope something that I entered will help you in your search. So many of you out there have helped me. I love doing genealogy. I like the challenge of finding families and linking them together. I will gladly add information to anyone I have entered.

The families I am related to are Nelson from Arkansas, Texas, and California; Reynolds from Arkansas; Tackett from Arkansas; Stricklin,Stricklen,Strickland from Arkansas; Delaney, Dauer, & Taub from Illinois. Thanks for any tidbits of information.

Adolph Daniel Memorial
Adolph Daniel memorial #48810201. I was reading the death certificate information. The mother's maiden name is Fudge not Judge. I know it is hard to read writing on some death certificates.
Thanks,

RE: Harold Taub
Hi!

If you will not provide the burial plot, then please cancel your photo request.

The "Help with Find A Grave" clearly states it is the responsibility of the person requesting the photo to provide the burial plot. Please don't get mad at me for asking you to obtain the burial plot.

By the way, I'm not bothered by the fact that you have a photo request, I am just trying to clear up the backlog of photo requests at the cemetery. In less than a month I've cleared up more than 300 photo requests at Forest Home. All of the people that I did this for seemed very grateful.

Hello, I am involved with a group from Steeleville, IL that is planning a cemetery walk in Steeleville Cemetery. One of the graves/stones that we are going to talk about is Rev. Charles Jay.
I was wondering if you have any information that you would be willing to share that could help us in the telling of his life.
Thank you for your consideration.

CAPT. J C BROWN
Angie: I'm looking for the gravesite of Capt. JC Brown, Texas Ranger and Confederate Officer - Parson's Brigade, 12th Texas Cavalry, Company E - Ellis County Grays. His parents Elizabeth & Joseph Brown, 1st wife Eliza and infant son are buried in Milford. He was born 1830 and died somewhere between 1895 and 1900. Capt. Brown was an important figure in Milford and since he is not buried beside his second wife, Lucinda, in Mineral Wells, it stands to reason he was buried in Milford.

Of interest, the Texas 12th Cavalry was in almost constant guerilla warfare till the end of the war from what I've read. They are also responsible for keeping the Civil War out of Texas. Capt. Brown returned to Milford 34-days after the war with an iron ball the size of a quarter in his leg. The iron ball and his pocket knife remain in our family. He was my great-great granddad.

The former Texas Ranger Association has been wanting to honor him with a special graveside service, but we cannot locate his gravesite.

CAPT. J C BROWN
I'm looking for the gravesite of Capt. John C Brown, born 1830 and died between 1895 an 1900. I thought he might be buried in the Milford Cemetery by his infant son and 1st wife. He is not buried by his second wife in Mineral Wells Elm cemetery either.
