When I was in college almost 40 years ago, I interviewed my 2 living grandparents for an American History class. I wrote down everything they told me and preserved countless pictures that they gave me. That started my quest. My husband & I have traveled the country spending countless hours/days in courthouses, cemeteries, libraries, etc. looking for documentation to prove family lines. Many stories passed down through the family have been proven untrue and some family members dispute the facts....however, I only record what can be proven as my membership in many lineage societies requires.

Thank you for your information. He is also the 6x Great Grandfather to the friend for which I am doing the research.
I have found the site for the museum but am unable to find the photo there - or anywhere so far. I wonder if you would know if it is available on line?
I am temporarily posting the photo in question in hopes that you may have seen it and know something about it. I am still searching for its origination. It seems to be from a book and even lists the name of the person that contributed the photo.

You can do something about your photos...you can make ancestry take them down by emailing a DMCA takedown notice to their copyright agent. I get mine removed all of the time using this method. I will contact you with further details.

The address is:
431 Blackburn Ave
Ashland, KY 41101
Pollard Baptist church is across the street. I'm assuming they hold the cemetery records so it may be wise to phone them for records. Also, I tried find John Lewis' grave there as well. I couldn't find it. I went home and looked it up and found out that his body has been moved to Ashland Cemetery here in Boyd County. When I get the chance later this week, I will see if i can find it.
Hope this helps...
