Been doing genealogy since 2000. Been photographing tombstones since 2002.|
If you take a picture of a marker you should check the plot for other members of that family. Normally all members of a plot are family members even it they may have different surnames
To me the plot is more important then the one grave. If you find more family in the plot and want credit for them tell me and I will add the memorials and request pictures.
If I take a marker I will always check the area for more members of the family or take the others in the plot.
If you want a high-resolution image I keep the photo about a month or so. Or if local I can get them again.
Please note: Only speaking for myself and the photos that I take. Findagrave does have rules you should be aware of regarding copy or using photographs posted. Copywrite laws, etc. Please do not take this as permission for all photos at findagrave.
I am giving my permission for you to use my photos in any way you see fit for your family. To me they are just a rock with letters on them.
Request for Family Links / Transfers
I have been getting a number of weird requests in the last few months.
1. I double check all requests.
My checks many times add family links to the memorials.
2. If you tell me they are your relatives. I must assume they are my relatives too. I have the better claim. Tell me how your related!
On ancestry.com they have "U.S., Burial Registers, Military Posts and National Cemeteries, 1862-1960", don't trust the index, LOOK at the IMAGE!

Thank you for the photos of Peter and Katherine Herbes - it is so nice to see them attached to their parents.

Thank you for the update info and the headstone updates on Fr. Dick McCaslin. The updates have been made.
|Peggy Doyle||Robert Smith-Wood Cemetery|
You had responded to my photo request for Robert Smith in Wood Cemetery and have stated he is not located in this cemetery. While he is not in the online database for VA gravesites as you had stated, he is listed as being buried there on Interment.com with the following information, which according to the website came from the cemetery itself, "Smith, Robert R, b. 01/05/1900, d. 01/24/1962, PVT 51 CO 20 ENGRS, Plot: 38 R14 G12, bur. 01/26/1962," He is also listed as being buried there on his death certificate. What I am wondering is whether you contacted the cemetery office or went to the listed plot to see if he is the person interred there. My next step was to contact the office at the cemetery but if you have already done this I will try to locate Robert elsewhere, I appreciate your efforts on my initial request. Thank you.
Would you please add his parents

Whether his death date will be cut is anyone's guess. It's been over a year now. Thanks for your help.
