I want to say "hello" to everyone that takes the time to sit and do this for the one's that walked this earth with us and before us.. I think it is a wonderful way to spend my time to respect those in my family tree, and others. I can't think of a better tribute to a loved one..thank goodness for this site !|
I wanted to touch on a subject I have been hearing volunteers complaining about lately; and I want to voice my opinion on this issue.. I am a Volunteer.. if I go out and take a gravestone photo for someone else and put it on this site; then I consider that picture to be a gift.. just like my time, gas, and energy to go do it is a gift. If the requester of the photo wants to add that picture on their family trees, that's ok with me; as far as I am concerned; that picture does not belong to me; it was a gift.. use it anyway you want to; I don't care; if you want to give Findagrave.com or me credit; that's nice and respectful to do. The bottom line is that I consider this as my time of doing the Lord's work.. and I give it and the photo's freely.. Gail

You are very welcome. If there is anything else you ever need I am just few minutes away from Lakeside and would be happy to help anytime.
|Lisa ||Gertrude "Gertie" Moon|
Hi, I saw a message you wrote on Gertrude Moon's page, saying that she was your great grandmother's half sister. I'm distantly related to Gertrude's step mom, Clara Smith.
I've been trying to fill in more of the family tree on that side and was wondering if you'd like to talk and exchange information? I currently don't have a Maynetta A. Moon on our tree and I'm curious where she fits in.

Because you manage memorials for Nathan and Amy Hemstreet in Riverside Cemetery, we thought you might like to know that there is a new, better photo for Amy's marker (92333501), and we've added a memorial with a photo for Estella(?) Hemstreet Huether (163776288). If she is in your tree, we'd gladly make a transfer.

Would love to pick your brain about Winslow and Louise Boyer of your by relatives.
|Susan M Olson||Abner Billings - Iowa|
Abner is a grandfather of mine. I see you left flowers for him. Are you related?
|Don Calhoun||Michael Jeffrey Peterson, 146788|
Thank you for leaving flowers on Michael Jeffrey Peterson, 146788 in West Point. I always feel happier when I see your smiling face. On the West Point inventory, I went from 749 and 71%, to 861 and 95% photographed. Well worth the effort.

Look at my photos that I posted to memorial 147136 & 146788. You'll see the advantage of my recent photo run.
For Bailee McCullock 147136, I guess the original portrait photo had deteriorated. So they had the photo replaced with her Last photo. That makes me feel Sad & Happy at the same time.
For Michael Peterson 146788, that was just a classic "moment in time" in which I captured, and brought to Find A Grave.
It's too bad that I don't get paid for my work, My wife says I do--With Blessings!
|Don Calhoun||RE: Robert Julius Diebold, 146846|
I don't think that the photo was stolen, just getting replaced. Most of these stone companies have a guarantee with a replacement policy. I was just so proud that YOU took the initiative to shoot a portrait.
In my virtual cemeteries, I have a file called "photo inserts", and I have about 40 of these portrait shots. I am wrapping up a full inventory of Lindquist cemetery on Washington Blvd in Ogden. Then I'm going to do a re-inventory of West Point.
It's only 71% photographed.
Gotta do something to git away from my wife! LOL
C U in the Graveyard!

It's good that you did post the photo insert for Robert. I shot the stone today, and its gone. Probably getting replaced. Look at the stone now how punished it looks. I did sweep the stone.
Email a response and I'll delete my stone.
|jJudy King||Leoli Leah Enterline Gerger|
Hi! I saw your message about your relative Leah -- she was the younger sister of my great-grandmother Rachel E. Enterline Bryan (1851-1930)
I guess that makes Leah my great-great aunt? and trying to figure out our relationship makes my head hurt a little ! :-)
I don't have a lot of information about the Enterlines -- I've learned more tonight than I've ever known. I do know more about Rachel and her family --in a nutshell she raised 7 children, my grandmother was her youngest, born when Rachel was in her 40s. Rachel and Daniel left PENN in 1872 with his parents -- Jacob and Elizabeth Bryan and moved to Cerro Gordo Il...they then moved to Iowa in 1881. Rachel and Daniel ended up on a farm in Western Iowa in Crawford Co. That's where I was born and raised too. Rachel and Daniel are buried in OakHill Cemetery in Denison, Crawford, CO. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1924. She died in 1930.
