Bio Photo I am happy to add additional info anyone provides me on my memorials, but PLEASE read the website's FAQ's on what can and can not be used first.
Pictured with me is an uncle I didn't know existed, that I found by "Googling" my grandfather's name...and genealogy has been an addiction ever since!

Some of our family surnames I am currently researching:

Alexander, Campbell, Carter, Cloyd, Dawson, Mullinax, O'Neil/O'Neal, Peek/Peak, Puryear, Robertson/Robinson, Sampson, Snoddy, Vantrease

Bowman, Burger, Combs/Coombs, DuVal/Duvall, Fitzwater, Lidke, Lucas, Porter, Sawyer, Snow, Wood

RE: Samuel R. Pope

I SINCERELY apologize for the error on the dates of the memorial for Samuel Pope at Murnan Cemetery.

I honestly do not know where my brain & my fingers were on that one, as they definitely were not working together.

I so appreciate you finding this error and letting me know.

The memorial has been corrected, and AGAIN -- I am so sorry.

John Henry Puryear 102785682
Look at the memorial now and see if I have explained it. Evidently her name was John Henry per marriage license, but think for now she will just be Johnnie.

John Henry Puryear
Just ignore that message I sent and please delete it. I think I got my Bells and Puryears mixed at least partly. I should not try to fix things at the end of the day. It should be Johnnie, dau of Sam and Harriet Bell. Her headstone has the inscription Mother on it as transcriped by Henry Cutrel and he has only Johnnie, so John Henry should not be there just Johnnie. She could possibly have been a first wife of Doak Puryear, therefor the 1910 census would be correct.

John Henry Puryear born 1903 was the son of Daniel Mentlow Puryear and Josephine Bell. I am going to ck more in my family tree and the census.
I will get it fixed. If I come up with anything else that will not be on her memorial I will let you know. MHN

RE: Samuel R. Pope

My information came from a burial book I purchased from the Shelby Co. Indiana Genealogical Society.

If you will send me your regular e-mail address I will make a copy of that listing and send it to you.

Use my e-mail address from my bio page - OK

Hi there! I was wondering if by chance you are related to Walter Alexander (Find A Grave Memorial# 112201584). He is my husband's great-great grandfather. I was wondering if perhaps I could use the photo you have posted of him on my family tree? Also, if you have any more information regarding the family I would love to know more...

Dear Mary -

Were you the one who took the photo of Mary Engle
Pervorse? She is my Great Aunt, and am going to be visiting that area this weekend. If you were, I would like to know if you remember where she is buried at. unfortunately I do not have hours to walk the cemetery.....

Thank you, and thanks again for the photo...

RE: Calista Sawyer
Thank you for your kind message. My wife thinks I am too silly. My adult children insist on walking several steps behind me in public. Other than that, life is good!

Wishing you the best this spring as once again we can venture into the great unknown called cemeteries. ":-)
