George Francis McDonald
George F McDonald #30346781-Old Eyak Cemetery

In my research, I have George living until 1944.....1930 and 1940 Census for Cordova, Alaska.
Also, birth info his daughter, in Cordova, in 1932.

The findagrave shows a death year of 1910.

Do you have any info so I can straighten up this mystery?

James V Ritchie
James Ritchie
Hi. I James Ritchie live In Iceland and I am searching for my ancestors or more one member that is my Grate grandfather born in Greenoch, Scotland 11 September 1856 and emigrated from Scotland 1898. Next I find James Ritchie on 1901 census for Yukon territories and Dawson then he is listed absent in Dawson 1902.

Then comes up James Ritchie again in Cordowa died 1908. He was Master Joiner and boat builder. There was Ritchies Roadhouse between Skagway and White horse so lots of ifs. His wife Catherine Darroch Ritchie lived in Montreal and said to be widow on ship record in 1913 and last censor record of him in 1891 in Scotland. So if anybody has any suggestion please send note to

Tom Lynch
Hello Dixie,

I have a short bio on Tom Lynch who was a brother of my grandfather. I can't figure out how to upload it so I'll leave it below, Thanks in advance:
Thomas Lynch was born on the 4th of Dec 1878 in Tecumseth Township, Simcoe County, Ontario.Tom died 3 June 1910 from a blasting accident while working on The Copper River and Northwestern Railway. He was one of 10 children born to James Lynch and Mary Courtney of that Township. Tom worked across the US West in North Dakota and Montana mostly as a cowhand. This is his death notice that appeared in a local paper announcing his death: Orangeville Sun, Date: 30 Jun 1910
Orangeville Sun, June 30, 1910, An extremely sad affair occurred at Tiekel, Alaska, on June 3rd, when Thomas Lynch, son of Mr. James Lynch of Adjala, was the victim of a fatal accident. While blasting rock on the Copper river and Western railway near Tiekel, he was terribly injured in an explosion, dying from the effects of his injuries very shortly afterwards. The remains were interred at Tiekel.

Barbara Montgomery
Thank you so much for transferring Barbara Montgomery's memorial to me, Dixie. I do have one question though: You said you did not include a photo of the stone ebcause it was too damaged or deteroriated to read. But you listed her date of death and her age at death as well as name ("Burbary") on the memorial. Were you able to make out that information from the stone? I just want to confirm that and that it was not from some other source. Many thanks.

RE: Burbary (Barbara) Montgomery
Thank you, Dixie. Would you consider transferring her memorial to me as her direct descendant? Her maiden name was Barbara Harris and I am trying to discover her parents. I would love to do a write up on her and add it to her memorial.

Many thanks,
