Hi, I have been interested in cemetaries since i was a little girl. As I got older my sisters and I use to ride around and visit differant cemetaries. I grew up on Long Island in New York state. I have three sisters, four children and four grandchildren. I have many hobbies and I have been working on my family tree for over a decade. Thanks to facebook I have been in contact with many relatives that I didn't even know existed.|
I am a die hard New York Mets fan and have been collecting
Mets memorabilia for many year. I also collect elephants in any shape or form.lo
I have custody of my grandson Xavier and granddaughter Hailey so they keep me on my toes.
WE ARE THE CHOSEN
[Author: Della M. Cumming ca 1943.]
My feelings are in each family we are called to find the ancestors.
To put flesh on their bones and make them live again,
To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve.
To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead,
Breathing life into all who have gone before.
We are the story tellers of the tribe.
We have been called as it were by our genes.
Those who have gone before cry out to us:
Tell our story.
So, we do.
In finding them, we somehow find ourselves.
How many graves have I stood before now and cried?
I have lost count.
How many times have I told the ancestors
you have a wonderful family, you would be proud of us?
How many times have I walked up to a grave
and felt somehow there was love there for me?
I cannot say.
It goes beyond just documenting facts.
It goes to who I am and why I do the things I do?
It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever
to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen.
The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh.
It goes to doing something about it.
It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish.
How they contributed to what we are today.
It goes to respecting their hardships and losses,
their never giving in or giving up.
Their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family.
It goes to deep pride that they fought to make and keep us a Nation.
It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us
That we might be born who we are.
That we might remember them.
So we do.
With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence,
Because we are them and they are us.
So, as a scribe called, I tell the story of my family.
It is up to that one called in the next generation,
To answer the call and take their place in the long line of family storytellers.
That is why I do my family genealogy,
And that is what calls those young and old to step up and put flesh on the bones.

|Kjirstin Youngberg||Thank You for Benjamin Youngberg Photo|
It has been nearly 25 years since we lost Benjamin. I have only seen his gravesite three times, and live far from it now. Imagine my joy to see you had visited, and left his photo on the page. It made me cry, but thank you. They are good tears now. Did you get his photo from the cover of the book I wrote, The Promised Twin?
Our daughter, his big sister, Rachel, made me a vid for Mother's Day this year. Perhaps you would like to see it, and share it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_Y3Xo4M3pA Rachel has always been a very private person, so I was surprised when she was so public about her experiences. She discovered her friend, another singer named Robert Norman, shared the sadness of also losing his baby brother to SIDS. That is when they decided to record an album to benefit SIDS research. Anyway, I hope you like it.
In case you're wondering, his twin brother, Matthew, is a junior at the U of U and is studying IT and atmospheric sciences.

Thank-you for leaving a thoughtful token for my husband's maternal aunt. She was a delicate flower and passed before her time.
Thank you so much for leaving that sweet note for my deceased older sister (Elizabeth Crans). That was very nice of you to do so. You seem like a wonderful person! Take care now... Love, Brandi
