Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy about 30 years. I've found that cemetery information, although not always right it sure can lead to some great leads.

Family names I am working on

Ohio -
Shaw, Waldren, Moore, Henderson & Knox from Vinton County, Ohio;
Haynam from Stark, Carroll & Columbiana Counties, Ohio;
Reid & Banta from Preble County, OH.

Indiana - Mason, Reid, Sturgeon, & Headington from Jay County, Indiana

Massachusetts - Kenney, Redden, Gibson,

New Hampshire - Boynton, Hopkins

Nova Scotia - Kinney, Letteney, Sabean, Warne, Doty & Prime from Digby County;
Redden & Trenholm from Kings County, N.S.

Vermont - Perry, Hopkins & Gibson from Windsor County, VT.

Also working on Cox, Carter, Price, Mourn, Hartman & Foughty in Athens County, Ohio.

I live in south western Ohio and can get over to parts of Indiana also. I'm glad to help when I can, in the mean time I am trying to input information from the cemeteries in my area.

Please contact me for corrections or doubles. I will gladly transfer memorials.

The chair in the photo is located in the Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio. It is under the name of Margaret Duncan look at the other stones she and her husband James Duncan have - no I don't know them but I love the chair!! I like the thought of being comfortable at the cemetery.

RE: Emanuel Haynam

Go to [the is the web site for the Stark County District Library]. Across the top of the page you will find a 'genealogy' tab. Click on it. In the first paragraph you will find a 'request form' link.

They will send you a digital copy of the obituary to your email address free.

The obituary was published in the Canton Repository 1878 March 16 page 4 column 1.

The response will be a day or two.

RE: Emanuel Haynam
Dear Lu,

Emanuel is interred in Section K Lot 25 in Westlawn along with Hannah Mary and George A. I have posted a photo on Emanuel's page showing the order for his military grave memorial. Notice that his last name on the card was spelled
'Hayman' instead of 'Haynam'. This is the correct order because all of the info matches. His obituary was published 1878 Mar 16, the day after his death. These dates are also match cemetery records.

I'm happy for you that you've finally found him.

RE: Mayo's in Mt Feake
Thanks. I am going to leave Fannie's photo request open so I remember to take another look. The plots in that area are spaced fairly far apart and when I found the Mayo stone I figured that was it, but in actuality there are 2 separate plots 1196 and 1197 so let me double check again, there were some broken stones fairly near by. So far the snow is not sticking, let's hope it stays that way!!!

RE: Mayo's in Mt Feake
Hi Lu,

I found the Mayo stone today. It is in rough shape, looks like a vine grows on it in the warmer months, so it is stained and hard to read. There is only one stone on the plot. Here is who is on it -

Thomas C. Mayo - 1800 -1874
Lydia D. Mayo - 1800-1884
Charles H. Mayo - 1800 - 1883
Sarah E. Mayo - 1827-1859
Mary Gove - 1798 - 1862

Thomas and Lydia have memorials, the rest do not. Let me know if you want me to add the photo to Fannie. Also if you want to create Charles, Sarah and Mary Gove's memorials, I will upload the photo.

You may want to call the office on this one, they do have the old record and may be able to tell you about Mother, Father and the Unknown Mary that are listed on the online record.

RE: Martha Sinks Ferguson
No problem. Just thought since they were duplicates and you didn't have the dates, it would be less confusing. lol.
Been there and done that too.

Thanks, Carolyn
