I was born and raised in Walworth County Wisconsin. I gained an interest in cemeteries early in life from attending Memorial Day services at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, Wisconsin. I was amazed at all the lives, and the stories they represented. This interest was enhanced when my eighth grade teacher, Bill Grieg, required us to study the history of Sharon. I was a church-planting missionary in the fundamental, independent, Baptist field for over twenty years until health sidelined my wife and me. We now live in Watauga, Texas to be near our two daughters and their six children. I have always been interested in local history, and enjoy strolling cemeteries to discover new stories. I look forward to doing so until the Lord calls me Home! My personal family interests center on the following families: Oftedahl (Oftedal)(see www.Oftedahl.com/history), Mortenson, Ryan, Bjerning, Gebhart, Taylor, Smith, and Nethercutt. If you have anything to add or correct in any of my listings, please feel free to contact me. | |

 | RE: Staff Sgt. Ernest Oftendahl Yes, it would be ok to transfer Staff seg. Oftedahl's burial site to me. His mother Alice is my Grandmother Pearl Covel sister.

 | Staff Sgt. Ernest Oftendahl You left a flag on his gravesite. Thank you.
Parents were Frederick Conrad Oftendahl and Alice Leona Compton. Alice is my grandmother Pearl Covel's sister. Are you related to them?

 | re: James W Martin - Whites Chapel Cemetary Hi there, I believe that this James W Martin may be my missing great grandfather! My records from his daughter (my Aunt) stated he was born Mar 28 1885. This fellow is only one year off. According to family story he left his wife and 7 daughters; ending up in Wichita Falls TX.
Someone was kind enough to find a death date for him (which I see isn't on his headstone). Any chances of confirming his death date with whomever has the records for the cemetary? - LianeAdded by Liane on Mar 16, 2012 1:11 PM | | | Emma (Shrum) Butler Duke

 | Oliver Loving Duplicate Photos Just a quick FYI to let you know you have at least one set of duplicate photos on the Oliver Loving memorial page . . . mayhaps because of a merge of duplicate memorial pages? | | | Mike
