My mother, Corine Carter began researching our family in the 1950's (Canoga Park) and I began helping her in 1973.|
I am so very thankful for all of you who take photos and share them with everyone! Photos validate research and give it visual reality.I believe in sharing all photos, so feel free to use them.
This photo was taken steps from where we live at Sunset Beach, Oahu.

Yes - born and raised in Farmerville. I live here again now -moved back about 14 years ago after living in Salt Lake City for 12 years after serving an LDS mission in England. Who is your mother? Was she in the LDS church in Farmerville?

I was wondering if you would mind if I copied the photo you have entered for Joseph S. Brooks and Sarah Drucilla Skains Brooks. I am working on an update of the LDS Church history in Union Parish and found their names mentioned in 1901 in a missionary's journal as he spent time visiting with them. I thought it would be nice to add their photo since they were mentioned if that is not a problem.
Also do you by chance have any photos of her former in-laws, Lydia and Mary Jane (Dollie) Kyle? They were early members in this area and I have their testimony written to the LDS mission newspaper and would like to add a photo if you by chance have one.
Thanks, Joni Mashaw

Nan: I am still looking for your photo requests. Please do not give up. They are definitely on the cemetery records at the church, but I have not been able to find the graves. I do have two more rows to go, and maybe they are among those few. Abby

Nan, We walked the entire cemetery and didn't see any markers for Anne and Alena Jacobs. I realize that it is easy to miss one marker.

As they say, "small world". Thanks for the transfer and again, for your hard work.
Lucky you (Hawaii)!
Perhaps we could share information on Knapp (and I have Straubinger contacts) My mother was Elizabeth Knapp, the youngest. Edwin was my first cousin and my name sake.

Just added Rosina. She is buried in the same plot as her mother and father, Alice and Edward Long. Also buried in same plot is Jane M. Ritter, my G-Grandmother.
