Thought for the day: If you're waiting for your chance to win the lottery, take a look at some of these headstones where the person lived a few decades, a few years, a few months or even just a few hours and then you'll realize you're already the big winner.|
I've been doing general genealogy for a little over a year now (as of August '09). I get pictures of headstones here and there hoping it will help somebody somewhere and I consider it an honor to post cemetery information of the men and women that served this great land called the United States of America.
I've taken cemetery pictures in 32 states, Washington, DC and Canada and my favorite state for pics is definitely (southern) Louisiana.
Some of the surnames in my tree include Thompson, Liles, Southards, Chester, Stacks, Causey, Shipp and McDaniel.
The (famous) ancestor that I am most proud of is King Robert (the Bruce) I of Scotland.
UPDATE: April/2012 (I almost made it three years without putting some sort of gripe in my bio) - If you're going to ask for a transfer, please don't use some cheap excuse like, "I would like to link them to my family" or "I would like to make updates". Any knucklehead can do those things. Just ask for the transfer and I'll probably do it. I generally don't even care about the transfer guidelines. Honesty is more important. Just say (something along the lines of), "They are directly or indirectly related to me and I would like to have them."
Gripe #2 (July 2012) - Please don't post death certificates where you are supposed to put pictures of the person and headstone. Send a SAC with the birth and/or death information and parents if available. About the only thing left is what they died of and do we really need to know that?!?!
Thank you to all the
that contribute to this website! ;-)

Appreciate your help, thank you very much.
|kllangston||Isaac Adams #12549629|
I'm sending you a note hoping you can help me fix a problem I have. I found a request for the above named and memorial number Isaac Adams, and I checked it and you had already posted a photo of the stone. The request was made in 2014 and you posted the picture in 2010, the person who made it hasn't done much, only 3 memorial created since almost a year ago. I didn't know whether to ask him to delete his request or since he doesn't seem to be doing much thought it might be better to ask you if you could post another picture of the stone so that it would clear his request and then later you could delete the duplicate picture.
When I found that you had a picture on the memorial I made a post to the request page indicating there was already a picture there, but I was new when I made the post and whatever I did I did it wrong because it posted 3 times, now it shows there was 4 things wrong with filling the request. I just thought it would be nice to "fix" the problem.
I apologize for asking this of you, but seemed like the best place to start since you appear to be experienced in handling memorials.
I thank you for your time.

I sent you the wrong info on the parents of Cleatus May. I am so sorry. I just now sent the correct memorials numbers for his parents.
|Pamela Thompson||Gravestone Photo Permission|
I apologize if I missed your response to my 1/5/2014 message--here it is again:
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Wayne A. Alford in Gracelawn Memorial Park (Memorial# 16586795).
I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of Delaware Obituaries, where his obituary is (or will be) included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/DEOBIT.htm.
May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:
Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Cam Thompson
And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

There are two photos of this person as well. Would you consider removing your photo? The tree shaded the photo and the sun makes the other photo more easily readable. How do you connect to the Smith family? I was curious if you knew the J.W. connection to L.T.?

There are two photos for the same person. Your photo has the date of death 1908- the headstone reads June 1, 1903. Would you remove your photo, please.
|Mr. Jean Coston||RE: Tony Palermo|
The thing I saw the name Anthony Palermo on the
grave stone and the name Tony on the memorial.
I didn't want the two to be confused as they are
