Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi! When I discovered Find-A-Grave, I thought it was fantastic! What a great way to preserve history and help other genealogists! I immediately began photographing local cemeteries as a way to give back to others who have helped me and shared information. I love doing it and feel like I am contributing to preserving some of these really old headstones before they become so weathered and decayed that they are illegible. To each their own, but I do not believe I "own" the photographs I take nor do I feel I have a copyright on them! I just don't get that philosophy, but, like I said, everyone has their own thoughts on why they contribute to FAG. I do not volunteer to do this for "credit" in any form—I am doing it to help other genealogists as they search for their ancestor's final resting places. It is always absolutely fine with me if you use any and all photos I have taken for your trees or personal family trees and you do not need to give any credits to me. It has always been my idea that if we, as genealogists, do not share our discoveries and work as one big family, we are just making it harder to complete our own personal history books. As far as transfers, if you are a relative of any degree or just someone "special" to the deceased, I will gladly transfer unless they are also my own relative. I love everything historical and Find-A-Grave is a wonderful gift to us wanting to preserve history. Happy hunting! --Vickie

Thank you!
Thank you, Vickie, for posting the photo of Lex Bion Gard, at Thayer Cemetery. he is my great-uncle, the brother of my grandmother. We have heard stories of their being a little boy who dies, but the details were always shrouded in mystery. My brother and I thought it was a child of my grandmother's, a possible brother of our mother's, but this clears up a family mystery for us. Thanks again!

Family update for 102321130 Kate A Schaal
Kate A Bricker was born in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania to Samuel Bricker #60992737 & Susan Line Bricker #60992932, June 1870. Marriage recorded Nov. 16, 1893, Dickinson County, KS. Kate A Bricker & Peter L Schaal. Please link Kate A Schaal to her parents. This is very important, as this Bricker line are shown as descendants of a Revolutionary Patriot.

Fred Jahnke: FAG 109813719
Hi Vickie,

I am looking for information on Fred Jahnke. You created a Find A Grave memorial for him with the following information:
Neodesha Cemetery
Wilson County
Kansas, USA

I asked Gene Ewart (who took the photo of the cemetery) to go to the cemetery and take a picture of his headstone for me. He replied and said he found no Jahnke's at all in any of his Wilson County indexes or files. The Neodesha Cemetery Index does not list any at all. Either the main cemetery or the Catholic portion. That index is the official index held by the city who owns and maintains the cemetery.

Can you provide me with any more information as to why you think he is buried in the Neodesha Cemetery?

I appreciate all you do to assist in our mutual efforts of genealogy!

You're very welcome, Vickie. I totally agree about obits and histories. Not all of us get a chance to know a person without help.

Photo's & Updates
Vickie; I to love to help and share. I just wanted to apologize to you for double taking of photos and updates. On one computer I get no info then I search the same person on a different computer and find that you have already taken a photo. Modern tech is wonderful when it works. I wanted you to know that I was not trying to redo your work, what you have done is great. I have just been getting back info from some computers. Thanks Duchesne Duchess

Thanks for the obit. I now know the parents of Mary Findley Freeman. Do you happen to have any other Findley obits for Wright Co.?

Mary Findley Freeman
Hi, do you know who her parents were? I'm a Findley but don't have her in my tree. She might be a different line.
