Bio Photo LAST ON LINE: 28 Jul 2015

Retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer with over 29 years of service. I am also the wife of a retired US Army soldier and the mother of a soldier who was injured in Iraq from an IED but was able to complete his tour of duty! SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!! Honor them without complaining on memorials!

My memorials are lopsided as I manage a deceased cousin's contributions to Findagrave.

Some people believe the 1900 Census is all wrong for using birth dates. If that's the case, ALL the Census are incorrect. I know for a fact a majority of my relatives are correct in the 1900 Census...research people:)

DEATH CERTIFICATES are welcomed on my memorials as they are in the public domain and, although at times there are errors, they can provide a wealth of information.

Findagrave is again changing special flowers and modifying bios if they don't approve.

SUGGESTIONS: For those making suggestions, please research and provide the researched information for me to update. Additionally; 1: If someone has a duplicate memorial, courtesy is to ask that individual to delete it FIRST before asking Findagrave to get involved, and 2. When you receive an edit request please DO NOT update the information you received and then decline the edit you received - that is just NOT cool!

HEADSTONE PHOTO VOLUNTEERS-If you volunteer and post headstone photos, please take a photo of the COMPLETE marker and please take the time to ensure your photos are posted as right side UP (not sideways or upside down). I find more and more some individuals crop the bottom of the markers off - especially on military grave sites, which does an injustice to our veterans and the photos were supposedly taken by ex-military individual(s). You took the time to take the photo, then PLEASE take the time to crop correctly.

SSDI-Regarding the "Last Residence" in the SSDI: This is the last address of record, not necessarily where the individual died. Please do not ask me to list it as the place of death on memorial pages - to do so would only be a guess.

I work hard on Findagrave and have sponsored quite a few memorials. Please be a contributor and not just a person who adds names. It's great to see the people who do provide research.

Thank you for finding Hazel, and providing information about her. It was very kind of you to get the information. I would love to have a photo of their headstone or gravesite.

Thomas E Heim
Hi Mrs. Sherlock's cousin: I am working on Thomas Heim According to the Lycoming County Gen Society Cemetery book Thomas is buried along with his wife in the Montoursville Cemetery. I have added him there with links to his parents. Can you clarify this cause it is conceivable that a person could have two stones in two different cems. See 150145456. Thanks K

Frederick Augustine
Last week I visited the cemetery where Frederick is buried. In the Augustine section located in the older part of the cemetery, I believe I found his grave marker. Very hard to read marker, the name I can not read for sure but there are enough letters in the right areas that I could make out to lead me to believe I found the right grave. The death date matches, and the grave marker is next to that of Elizabeth Hartzel. The 1850 Census lists A Fredk Augustine 61 with his wife and another adult Elizabeth Hartzel 49 and her husband John Hartzel 52.That was enough to convince me that I had found the correct stone for Frederick. I do not know if Frederick had a daughter named Elizabeth that appears to be the case. I see your name on a lot of memorials thanks for all you do for Find A Grave - Kenneth Fawcett.

I tried to get my shadow out of there, but the sun wanted it there.

Thomas Sullivan
Thanks for having me add "and a Navy soldier" on Sullivan's bio. When I created the memorial he was still living. God Bless all of our troops.

You're welcome for the photos and thank you for the nice compliment. Yes, Fort Sam National Cemetery is very pretty, they have a pond of recycled water. They have been renovating sections and adding new grass and most of the sections have sprinkler systems. They often water early in the morning during the week.

CPL Edward Pedregon at ANC
Hi,
The new stone with the correct year of birth is now in place for CPL Edward Pedregon at Arlington National. I've posted new photos on his fg memorial.

Thanks!

Thank you so very much for your hard work and efforts. I had no idea my baby sister had a marker. You have helped heal my heart as our Mother and Father both passed in 2012. I hate so much that she is so far away.I have never been able to see where she was or even knew where other than near El Paso TX. Dad was a retired Marine with Korea and VietNam behind him. Thank you again. Sincerely, Cynthia McEarchern Brown
