Hi, I just started doing a Family Tree this summer on Ancestory.com. I was surprised to find out that there wasn't much info on our Trees. I would love to hear from the Shelleys & Bovenkamps of Newton and beyond. Its a shame that we lost track of our distant relatives, but close relatives that we know can hide many secrets...|

|Beverley Nelson||James Beaven - the headstone was wrongly assigned|
Dear Shell - Thank you for the info you have put in. However the headstone on the grave was wrongly assigned to the father, it should have been for the son. I contacted CWG about it last year, and have today been advised that an amended headstone is now in place. If anyone can now take another photo, and post it, that would be lovely. That also means that what you wrote needs to be adjusted, so I leave that to you to do. I do have a photo of the new headstone, sent to me by CWG but I am not very computer savvy, so have no idea how to post it on the 'Find Grave" website. Thank you again for your original effort - Regards - Beverley
|Sherry Harris||Thank you|
Thank you for the photo of Beatrice and Floyd Matney's grave.
I looked up the list of people buried in this cemetery and Ransom Shelley is not listed. I walked the cemetery and could not find a gravemarker for Ransom Shelley.

no. when I was there it was very overgrown and I clipped and moved all vines I could to expose headstones. the photo Big John took of the overall cemetery area shows a lot of exposed headstones. it had maybe 3 exposed headstones when I was there. the city was to be working on getting a work group to clean up the area so it could be photographed. someone from MN with family there said he spoke with museum folks and they were to let him know if there was a work time so he could assist. I was going to go also. have never heard about a time. I went in the fall believing it would be mostly free of brush and it was not. I assume post winter would be better time now, if even then the brush is clear. don't mind making another trip to try to get all the headstones, but there will still be a lot of missing ones. area isn't large enough for 130 headstones.
|Linda C.||Shelley family|
Hi my name is Linda Shelley Caughron and I am researching the Shelley side of my family. I believe we have some common relatives. My tree is as follows:
Prentiss (my dad was named after the kind doctor that delivered him!)
Joseph and Elizabeth
I live in Oklahoma and I will be traveling to North & South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee. Would love any info about towns or cemeteries to visit.

Strangely, it does not appear that my photo is there. Can you offer suggestions?

No, all of my headstone photos are sadly posted! :(

Good morning, Shelley--I've just added the memorial, linked to her husband, and transferred to you.
