Each time we embrace a memory....
We meet again with those we love*

The Story Tellers

We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe.
(author unknown ) I love running to cemeteries close by and searching for those I've never been to. I've had many adventures from getting chased by large dive-bombing mosquitoes out in the middle of nowhere to discovering many old buried graves and working carefully to bring them back to their rightful place.

I have a Virtual Cemetery for "Military". It contains as many local and family members as I remember to add. This may be of interest to those dedicated to covering our history.

RE: Ira Glenn Frazier
You wrote me:

I'm happy to hear from you. Like your wife I never met my birth Father. He was a scoundrel in so many ways. My Mother left him with an 18 month old son and me in her belly and came home to her parents in Youngstown.

It is through the Frazier line I have been able to trace my lineage to Scotland. And yes, we are a breed apart,(nutcases) my family has no interest in what I do. I'm the apple that never fell from the tree.

Thank you so much for helping me. I added a headstone picture for his wife Mildred.

Happy Hunting, Dianne

Jerry was Ira Glenn's son and my wife's dad making him your second cousin I believe

RE: Ward and Cullum Family
I am a McShan descendent on my mothers side. My husband is a Ward. His mother was a Cullum. I met Bills mothers Sister in Law at a wedding over 40 years ago. She was very pleasant and we talked a long time. Turned out she too was a McShan descendent. I was stunned, thought I knew all the connections. It took me almost 40 years. But due to my research thru Find A Grave it jumped out at me. So my husbands first cousins became my distant cousins thru the McShans. Two brothers married two sisters in 1860 Drew ARK. and moved to San Jacinto County, Cut and Shoot, Texas. When I was 16 one of my aunts told me something about two brothers moving to Texas. I never met anyone from that branch. They have a story to tell, and we have a responsibility to let them speak. Many descendents have contacted us to either thank us or provide additional information.

Sorry my fingers "got tongue tied". You may use her image as long as you use it tastefully. She was a very gracious lady. We miss her every day. I wish my children could have known her. I assume you mean the picture of her in Humble Texas with her grandchildren.
