Hi Mike - Well, I finally found where my grandfather is buried! He is in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, Mass. I have a picture of his grave. Would you be kind enough to update the info on your post? Am I able to upload the picture to your post or do you have to do it?
Many thanks,
Cyndy Harrington

Capt James Monroe Wharton, memorial 33992596
Hello Mike,

I noticed that you submitted a flower for Capt James Monroe Wharton, memorial 33992596, and on it you posted:

Aviation Cadet J. M. Wharton, USNR, designated Naval Aviator #4925 in 1936. Captain for PanAm.

Did you post that on a flower because the person who manages the memorial did not respond to an edit you sent her, so you posted it as a flower?

The reason I ask is that I have been having serious issues with her responding and posting my edits. Regular edits are not accepted and eventually default to auto-accept in about 3 weeks (21 days), but requests to update their bio data go unanswered. Direct emails sent to her direct email address go unanswered. Messages left on her Find A Grave bio page go unanswered.

I am polite and not rude at all, so have no idea what the problem is. But, this has been going on for months and now I am getting angry.

I have hundreds of edits stacking up for her, awaiting her approval. If she is no longer active, I have asked her to just transfer the memorials to me and I will manage them. SOMEONE has to actively manage the memorials, and if it isn't going to be her, then it needs to be someone who will.

Thanks for your help,

RE: Nielsen family

accurate records are important. I was working from old handwritten paperwork and back then so much was written phonetically. Thanks for the corrections.

Nielsen family

There are five members of the Nielsen family that are together. Bodie is one name and the other four have cremains with him. They are in the garden of devotion; however unable to locate their marker

Thank you Mike for adding the information to my grandfather's memorial. Was there any other info available? I know very little about my grandfather other than what I have found on Ancestry so anything additional would be wonderful. Thanks again! Kristi

I just noticed and don't know why I declined your suggestion for his birthplace. I will have to ask his son as well as check the records. I think "Scott" was the home in the head of his Lucky Bag bio. I will try Ancestry, too.

Jack Derthick
Thanks for the memorial for Jack Derthick of Alpena. He was a favorite almost-relative (his mother married my uncle, second marriage for each) way way long ago. We loved hearing his stories of his childhood and the Navy.
