|Pat Samson||Sallie Mae Humphrey's stone|
I think this memorial is same as Memorial #32518422, Mae H Humphrey. I have a book, "Madison Co Florida Cemeteries" by Joseph T Eichelberger, published 1990. I could not find Sallie Mae, nor husband John Henry Humphrey in the book. Using Ancestry.com I found evidence from 1918 to 1945 placing Sallie Mae in Alachua Co, with husband John until his death in 1939.
They have a son, Henry Miller Humphrey (1909-1973) memorial #32518525, that was with his mother in 1945 census, Alachua Co. Both mother & son are found in Fla Death Index, 1877-1998; as dying in Pinellas Co, Fla. Could husband John be buried in same cemetery, in High Springs?
I am not related to this family, but thought you might be interested in this info.

Hi Kay - I couldn't pindown where exactly Lot 8B is located but the photo I added to Mary's memorial is a wide angle shot of Section B. Sorry I couldn't be more precise; there were just too many unmarked graves in this section. Sheryl

Hi Kay - If you'd like to add the location of this stone to the memorial, it is "Block Y, Row 10, Lot 3". Sheryl

I have made the changes to the record. I got the death date from the Cemetery Records which sometimes are incorrect by a few days. I will go out and look for the stones and maybe that will give us more information. Do you want this record transferred to you? I am not related in any way.

Ohh boy, that's where I was gonna start ... with the death certificates. Did you check old newspapers at the library for a write-up regarding their deaths?
I took a quick look at census data and where they'd been living over the years. They were both in Neenah, Wisconsin in 1905 so I was thinking Hans probably died there four years later, and was buried there as well. Then, following his death, Elizabeth went to live with their daughter Emma Peterson in Merrill, as indicated by the 1910 census. If she died in Merrill, could she have been buried alongside Hans in Neenah?
But your saying Hans really did die in Merrill?

Hi there - I took another look at the Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery photo requests recently and saw your requests for Hans and Elizabeth Jorgensen. As you probably already know, the cemetery records suggest burial was in Block W (Original), lot 65. This area is a large family plot with what looks like several headstones missing. However, the two stones that do still exist spell the name as "Jorgenson" (see photo for Marie Jorgenson #110946128). You've had this request in for quite some time and this isn't the first time I've tried to find their burial site. I'm wondering if Hans and Elizabeth might be in one of the other cemeteries in Lincoln County. If you don't mind, I'm going to do some research of my own and see what I can find ... maybe we can finally get this request resolved. Hang in there, will contact you again soon. Sheryl
